I'm not angry at 888, Roland Dane, Craig Lowndes or JW. This goes back to an appalling decision by Ford and Ray Price. If I was racing brand x and the manufacturer of brand x wasn't giving me any cash, then brand y comes along and says "here's a bucketload to drive our cars" I know damn well what I would be doing. Ray Price could have sped up the demise of V8's as we currently know it. Whether or not that is good or bad I don't honestly know atm.

I agree,

As much as i see the series going out the back door, and also totally agree with the sentiments that Holden are prepared to do what ever it takes to have No. 1 on a Holden, I have to say that Poita's comments are very pertinent here, If VESA were serious there'd be 50% of each make and thats it!

Still it soes make you wonder if the 888 boys will slow now and let Tander take the championship for their ne Brand.[hb]

So what if triple 8 have jumped ship or pushed (thank you very much ford), remember back in 76 when Moffat won the touring car championship in the midst of formula torana. From memory there were only 3 or 4 fords that ran that year against heaps of Toranas. So Holden have swung the advantage back to themselves in buying the best team in the comp and again ford pulling out of sponsorship. So we have to step up and not let it affect what we do.

With the rise of DJR this year we will be a strong force to be reckoned with next year, bring on the new challenge.

If FORD have any BRAINS you will see either DJR, PCR or both joning forces with SBR and running SBR built chassis and/or engines in 2010.

Well guys i hate to burst your bubble but DJR after this year will not be getting 888 built Falcons.
Dane has said 888 engineering will be concentrating their development on Holdens from now on and that building Falcons was out of the question. They'll still do the bits and pieces but he's a sly prick and i'd trust him about as much as walkinshaw. He's got 3 million reasons to make sure customer cars aren't getting the latest and greatest gear and even more to make sure he doesn't get beaten by a Ford.

The greedy f#@k has 3 million reasons why he won't build Falcons. I'm sure you can say that it was part of the Holden deal that he didn't. He calls himself an Australian. He's about as Australian as a boat load of refo's.

Got to love the outright lies Dane and Whingc@#t are sprouting about no love from Ford.
They won 3 Bathursts and a championship with ford sponsorship and then did nothing but bag them when they pulled it and then Whingc@#t had the hide to say he tried doing stuff with Ford after he won his championship. Would have helped the cause after he bagged the shyte out of them. The f#@king dimwitted arsehole.

Dane is a grubby foreigner who courted Toyota. Whingc@#t a cock smoker and Ray Price is the biggest f#@king dissapointment to ever grace the Ford Motor Company for letting this team escape to the Red Whores

Forgot to mention , the money is on Paul Cruikshank Racing to join 888 at Holden. So that will leave 7 or 8 Fords on the grid

I just cannot see how 888 can build both FG's and VE's at the same time and there not be some sort of conflict of interest. I don't see them building Falcon's for DJR so they can beat the Commodore's that 888 are buliding for themselves. Fair enough,Dane says that they supply components of various types to the majority of teams, but supplying 2 different types of complete chassis to at least(from what reprts have said) 4 different teams is whole different kettle of fish.

Totally agree bigcol,as I said above, they wont build Falcons,or if they do they certainly wont build them good enough to beat their own Commodores.

looks like holdent have won the parity review they have been chasing for a couple of years now, the courts didn't help them so they just go and buy the team that they can't beat problem solved

As it stands at the moment.
This whole Bullshit thing in the middle of the season is no good for the "FANS" and the sport in general.
I feel that it has also been orchestrated to throw the whole championship into a total spin to knock Ford backwards. It distracts the teams from doing what there supposed to do. Provide entertainment on the track. There is no way in the world that T8 <s></s>falcons<s></s> SWINE CARS are not going to play a part for the remainder of the championship to let Tander & Co catch up & win the championship.
This whole lot of crap should have been left to announce at the end of the year.
So I ask the Question?
Who really has the sports best interest at Heart?
Certainly not F.....g Holden, that`s for sure.
20 to 10 is Crap.
Any way just go back to the last Race you Lieing Prick Whingcup and watch how James Courtney ( KICKED YOUR ASS ) Are you as good as you think you are? No mate your not!
Come on James, Kick his Ass again this weekend! Go! boys Go!

The DJR garage has produced some great cars for themselves in the past and will have no trouble doing it again, they have a heap of data already on the FG chassis and it was their own Geometry for suspension mounting and stiffening that went into the T888 chassis' anyway.
I reckon if they spend the rest of this year bum up and head down with the collection of as much data as they can there will be no problem building their own chassis again, and if Ford do pull out completely maybe DJR can be THE chassis supplier for the remaining Ford teams.

Cochbrain is really trying to follow an almost defunct business model in that of the F1 series of how to get the category more popular and all it's doing is costing Fans at the gate,in merchandice and in access; and teams a fortune in compliance.

Maybe it's time the Ford teams got together and ran their own series based ont he Production series with cars going back to their roots and being closer to showroom muscle cars, I'm sure there are dealers Australia wide who would welcome the concept of some racing that would benefit them and would be prepared to put into the sport.

I don't know how 888 and Dane in particular are going to accept playing sloppy seconds to TW and Kelly's at Holden anyway.

I wonder how much money it cost the 888 team in success coaching to gee the boys up enough to look positive about going Holden? I reckon it would have been a ship load.

If you take a step back and look at all of this objectively and without emotion, a couple of things stand out. I don't think that you can blame Holden for looking after their own interest and going after it as hard as they can. They are only doing what they are being allowed to do by the spineless softcocks that run the sport, they are the ones that really need the hard questions asked of. What are Ford doing in all of this? If they had even half of the commitment to V8 Supercars that Holden did we might not be in this mess. I think their chickens might have come home to roost!!!

if it happens, it will be a spectacular own goal by ford...

the other thing is that we have seen time after time how the dominance is cyclical and no one team remains at the top, typically a change in direction is what causes the fall - altered front suspension saw holden drop as sbr rose, little then ambrose left sbr and 888 took over as the team to beat, now with 888 possibly running commodores could it be their turn to fall from grace?

Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow, and find out next year!

?Of course my focus is on this weekend and doing well. This (the announcement of the team moving to Holden) has made it a little bit difficult, but of course I?ll concentrate on this and then it?s business as usual for tomorrow,? he said on Wednesday.

This is the first sign of the crack opening up. Kick his Ass JC.
