4EVER17 you may wish to elaborate on where you heard this? Do you mean T888 engineering will be preparing Holdens or Vodofone will also be sponsoring a Holden car???

It was in the latest edition of eNews that T8 will be a Holden team and also building cars for Paul Morris as well as continuing to build FG's, just a rumour at this stage.

E News had this in the latest edition apparently.

If it's true and 888 go Holden , i'm finished with V8 Superfarce.
Even if 888 keep building Falcons, they'll make sure they're good but not good enough to beat 888.
It'll be 20 VE's v 10 FG's

DJR might as well buy VE's from them and make sure they're in with a chance.

Even though i think a lot of SBR. If all Ford is left with is SBR and FPR it is going to be very lean for any Ford wins.
This and the COT garbage is just leaving me wanting to use the boat a lot more

If it happens Ford only have themselves to blame for once again shooting themselves in the foot

It is only a rumour but where there is smoke there's usually fire!
I'm hoping that T8 are creating their own PR hype around this to assist in courting Ford back to the T8 fold. They are pi$$ed and why shouldn't they be? SBR and FPR are cashed up on 'hard-to-come-by' Ford $ and they have done bugger-all for almost 2 seasons. 888 have single-handedly taken it up to the Holden boys and have nothing to show for it.
Ford should name the next model Falcon the "FA" as a tribute to SBR and FPR!!!

I can't see T8 building Fords and Holden or much worse going solely to Holden. I would like to think it is business as usual with whincup and Lowndes just resigning.

Well, if that?s the case, then it?s obviously the only way Holden is going to beat triple 8 is to buy them. Might as well rename it to V8 Superholden.

Im sure 888 brought alot of success to Ford over the years but if your not proud to half the Blueoval badge on the front of the car i say piss off.Where is the loyalty money talks and bullshit walks.

I guess when you have a sponsor like Hogs breath Cafe, ( who do happen to make some pretty good steaks) replaceing the the traditional Factory sponsor, then why would you waste advertising space when you can use it to your advantage and that's all 888 are doing.
I think Ford need to read the message, it's not about disloyalty it's just about Dollars and respect from Ford and I reckon it's Ford who have disrespected DJR and 888 by cutting their funding and doubling the amount given to SBR and FPV.
Ford needs to wake up and put the money where the winners are and where the winners and making the car sales.

I can't wait untill a practice day next year so I can yell abuse at Roland. What a bunch of Sooks. They are still getting Ford suport with cars and panels and what do Ford get in return of millions worth of stuff. They get there badge removed From THERE(not T8)car.
FCuk em I say Pi$$ of Sooks.

I agree with you to a certain extent TS-50 but Dane has a degree of arrogance about him. I realise its all about the mighty sponsor dollar but taking the blueoval badge and putting a hog in its place I feel it is wrong because it doesnt matter whether he likes it or not its still a FORD and we are Ford supporters.

on the v8supercar website

There is no official word yet on whether TeamVodafone will run Holden Commodores in the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship.

It has been speculated since Ford ended its sponsorship with TeamVodafone last year that the team would start running Commodores.

Even Team Principal, Roland Dane, has maintained a ?never say never? stance on the issue.

However, the rumour gained momentum yesterday (Monday) when a caller to radio station 3AW?s Rumour File segment alleged that a switch to Commodores would definitely happen before next year.

A motorsport publication ran a similar story last night and Sydney journalist Josh Dowling then reported on Sydney?s 3AW equivalent this morning that TeamVodafone will run Holdens in 2010.

Dowling also reported that Holden dealers have been invited to an announcement about the news tomorrow, but Holden Motorsport media spokesperson Gerald McDornan categorically denied the company had sent dealers any such invitation.

In a major announcement for the company, Holden advised earlier this week that current Sales, Marketing and Aftersales Executive Director, Alan Batey, would become Holden?s new Chairman and Managing Director.

Batey takes up his new position on September 1 and succeeds Mark Reuss, who is moving back to Holden?s parent company, General Motors, in the United States.

Walkinshaw Racing has reportedly signed a new contract the General Motors? Australian arm for Holden Racing Team. Confirmation of that deal is expected in coming weeks.

Neither Dane nor Holden Motorsport Manager, Simon McNamara, were available for comment today, but McDornan said that the company would not answer to speculation.

TeamVodafone media spokesperson Martine Cousins hosed down the rumours saying the Triple Eight team had no news to share on the manufacturer front.

Despite TeamVodafone?s heavy involvement last year in the development of the new FG, Ford directed its sponsorship to Ford Performance Racing and Stone Brothers Racing when it pared down its commitment to Australian motorsport.

TeamVodafone has not run a Ford logo on either of its cars this year and re-badged its FG Falcon shells with the Hogs Breath Caf??s mascot Hogster.

TeamVodafone announced last week that drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes, both V8 Supercar Champions, will stay on with the team for at least another three years along with major sponsor Vodafone Hutchison Australia.

If Roland Dane thinks he is being treated like second banana by Ford, then why would he go Holden, only to continue to be second banana to the haggis rulebending team? Just doesn't make any sence,

My phone has been running hot all day on this one. If my sources are correct, expect some form of announcement tomorrow. It may be smoke and mirrors but my gut is telling me somethings up. Personally, I don't give a rats about Holden, PMM or 888. My sole concern, if true, is the implications this will have on djr. That's all that matters to me!
