Yep ROB17 noticed both those, good to see isn't it.

What an awesome job from The Team to get these cars down and right on the pace, great driving from the boys too.

Steve 2nd just 6 '000ths of a second behind Whincup at the end of second session of Qualifying. Top 10 to come. Looking good.

And not just for Steve. I note RJ took Steve for pole in the tipping. Points I will be glad to concede.

Top job by both drivers and team. I thought Steve had pole for a second, when he lit up a green box at the second sector but not to be. My biggest concern now is who is around him. Tander and Murphy in front and Ingall beside, I hope he makes it through the first couple of corners untouched because those blokes are not exactly known for having cool heads and leaving racing room. Good luck to Steve and James, I hope the good weekend continues.

Good on you mate. I have stuck by him and DJR through thick and thin and now we are finally seeing what a good driver in a good car can do.:D

My phone doesn't ring much anymore these days from my wanker mates who are DJR knockers. Very quiet here.................

I'm already thinking of designs for my sj09V8CHAMP tattoo to match the DJR Tatt i already have 4EVER17. I'm happy to know I have a few other fellow SJ followers that are just as sick and tired as i am to have to listen to people knocking him.

RJ's event 7 observations.

1. There are some very ordinary drivers towards the back of the field.[hb]
2. Todd Kelly deserves his tag as one of the dirtiest drivers in the category.[gcs]
3. Ingall aint done yet.....unfortunately.[jk]
4. FPR are the champs when it comes to finding ways to screw up.[crackup]
5. Steve Johnson has a real shot the championship. He is doing EVERYTHING right so far!

Still waiting to see what Kelly's penalty will be, typical HRT commentary team didn't once say anything about Kelly trying to force James off the track.

Some good observations there RJ, Ingall would have won that race except for Patrizi and Jason HRT Richards.

Great drive by Steve in qual and the race.
Have to agree with Poita and RJ about Kelly. I couldn't believe that he just kept moving over on James who had nowhere to go. I certainly hope that he cops a decent post race penalty.

Todd has taken over where The Dude left off! It was interesting to hear Steve say on the podium that he had bent steering, yet he was still able to match the times of Tander and Ingall at the back end of the race. I hope he has another good day tomorrow. It makes that second event at Winton look very costly.

Kelly [jk]was dead set turning into james.[bx]
Ingall was ripped big time.
Having the Qual and t10 so close so people benifit from warm tyres is a joke. Major F up for car 6[rt]
Steve is awesome and shows with a good car he is not riding on daddys coat tails. He is here because he deserves to be

Steve had a great race, I only saw a couple of minutes of it but I was stunned not to see Courtney anywhere, but happy to see Steve running third.

Day 2

Colder today with it only reaching 11 deg, which I think certainly played with the cars. There was a light shower between qualifying sessions which didn't really affect anything just made it colder. Excellent job by Steve, he is showing how good he really is. Bad luck to James Tod needs to go find a hole to hide in so we don't kick his arse for that effort today stuffing James race. Tander should have been taken out by ingall but not enough laps.

The teams mates gathering was small in size and unfortunally fast due to the time the boys could give, but was understandable due to the qualifying not long after. I had made a gift for the team which I had the members present sign. Everyone had a good time which was good. The off track entertainment was stepped up this year so for Tassie this is really good sign.

After the race we headed off to the local for some JB's to celebrate Steve?s podium and have said to meat there again tomorrow once he?s up there again.

This is the party bus if you haven?t already seen it. Not much to look at from the outside but apparently is decked out very well inside. All I know is the party crew are very easy on the eye :D

Armies burnout ute. This thing had all 4 wheels smoking from the entire back straight. Running a 7l chev motor then tweaked a hell of a lot. Very impressive.

Pre race, but it was the cleanest pit bay I have ever seen.
