From what I have been told it is a lot less than that.

Penske 51%
Ryan Story 25%
Steve Brabeck 15%
The Johnson's 9%

Before the sale to Penske Dick had lees than 30% stake in DJR

I have had a bit more of a think about the one car scenario this year and I think I am now starting to see why. The Gold Coast, Sandown, Bathurst and Sydney events are all open to a "Wildcard" entry (Clipsal too???) so that is 4 (maybe 5) of the major events that DJRTP will be able to run a second car whilst reaping an income from the leasing of the #16 REC. Maybe a good business decision at the end of the day. It would also make sense for the #18 to turn up at the PMM workshop and run one of the spare DJRTP Chassis. That could possibly be the most cost effective way for CS considering the alternatives that would no doubt be asking an arm and a leg and possibly a left testicle. Again, it is a very silly season......

A shared pit boom with the giz? I cannot see how there is a benfit in this apart from the location in pit lane which will be determined on the teams ladder for 2014.
First year back into it will be difficult for Ambrose to stay in fromt of the Giz on track, which can only lead to a number of times he will have to double stack throughout the year, hurting his overall finishing position.
I woinder if its more about the number of stakff required by DJR at each meeting, reducing the costs over the year?

Apparently it will be of benefit during qualifying due to getting out on track sooner because of the Giz finishing second in the championship allows them to be further up pit lane. I think Tekno will be using DJR's new air conditioned gym too. Sharing of resources could be a good thing and there are a few good people at Tekno that DJRTP might want to get to know better:p

Yep DJRTP were chasing Giz from what I was told, Pencilled in for 2016 as Giz wants to do a few NASCAR road races and Penske will open them doors.

I was told the exact opposite...

I think "Dumb as dogshit" were the words used. :)

Have heard him called that a few times Gerry.

This is what I was told from someone I believe would know.

Remember Cindric came out and said they would only sign a proven race winner, not many are free agents.

DJR/TP all but signed Gis for this year only for Quinn to shake his finger at Giz and say you owe me if you pull out of the (another) deal.

Pye, still contracted to Dane, told DJR/TP he was only wanted a one year deal. Rumours that Pye may be required by Dane/888 in 2016?

DJR/TP weren't going to waste their time on Pye unless he got the $'s to run he own race this year. He obviously didn't.

The deal Giz has runs out this year and he is free to go or resign for 2016.

DJR/TP decided to run as a one car team this year and maybe welcome Giz into the fold for 2016.

As DJR-XR8 said Giz has been offered a few incentives including a test/road race in Nascar

And the planets are slowly aligning with Webb's team and DJR/TP sharing pits and staff.

Now this could all change or I could have been feed a load of crap but I don't see any other possibilities at this stage if they are serious about signing a proven race winner, especially one still relativity young.

All race winners yes, but would you tip them each week as having a chance to win?
I'd happily put coin on Chaz or Scotty in that regard. Not so keen to expend folding currency on Dollar Bill's prospects. The Giz would certainly be a good man to have in the car, but given that racing drivers aren't like lightbulbs - pull them out of the box and plug them in when you want to use them, then tuck them away until the next requirement (a Patrick Head lament during Mansell's time at Williams, apparently) - the times when he's not in the car could likely result in forehead slaps for management.

All seems a little quiet on how we're likely to be positioned, compared to some of the noise coming out of other camps in preparation for the Eastern Creek episode of Much Ado About Nothing... although I see the lads have some shiny new tools in the workshop - where the did old stuff get dumped? Got a spare couple of hours to come and fill the ute up!
