Just read it again, is this only for Clipsal and Townsville and not the whole season?

Yep. Rotating major sponsors throughout the year. As long as it's fast!

I wonder if DJRTP will be the first to bring in a NASCAR type of thinking when it comes to having different cars for different tracks. For example they could have one car for the flowing high speed tracks like PI and Bathurst and another for places like Winton and Homebush.

Yes - they're rolling liveries as they do in Nascar.

Edit: Oops didn't see RJ's post

So instead of having a small sticker on a wing mirror all season, pool all your sponsorship budget into a race or 2 as major sponsor.
Hmmm, hope there are as many sponsors signed up as there are rounds of the championship.

Drove past 10 Emeri st today. Felt a little sad. The large Dick Johnson Racing on the outside wall is gone. New coat of paint, and the new logo on signs. I heard somewhere there is now an Indy car and a nascar on display in the show room.

Just noticed the website lists Ford as a silver partner, the interesting part of that is that the link to the Ford website is to ford.com not ford.com.au

Quote from John Bowe...

"... the DJR-Penske alliance will yield results. Won't it be a sad day if they’re forced to move away to Lexus or BMW?
I reckon Ford Australia will be asked by Ford US to support DJR Team Penske in the long term – that’s my big crystal ball tip this year." [sh]

Aaand today the website is updated to link to ford.com.au. Simple oversight with no conspiracy theory to be found I guess.

Looks like Tekno are now done and dusted as well.

PR quotes Webb indicating Tekno will miss SVG next year?

But if not theirs, where will T8 get a third REC from?

[Sorry Pete.... looks like I clicked on 'Edit Post' instead of 'Reply With Quote'] [bgn]

Penske had better get that cheque book out and get some bloody good signatures because it looks like Roland is going to come out fighting!

Personally, I can't see SVG fitting in at 888.
He certainly won't have the freedoms he has now and that should lead to one unhappy fella whose racing will suffer. :)

Yeah I agree, . . if R BRA seriously think that SVG will become Jamie ( Nah Never heard of her mate) whincup's support driver like craig has had to be, they have another thing coming, . . . we saw how SVG was willing to cry on TV and state uncatagoricly that he was leaving ALL racing forever to get out of the deal with stone's so he didn't have to waste his time in the unperforming Mercs, . I reckon R BRA will feel his wrath should they expect him to have lower grade support, equipment and performance than any other driver in the team.

This could end in more waterworks , . . . .

On another note , Craig is off contract, . .and we look to be hiring, . . .

Craig has also signed an extension for two years.

Hopefully they have no use for Pye now and he can settle with DJR/TP

So R Bra is going three cars ? Didn't Dane say no team can run three cars successfully? and that he would never do it? . .

This is about to get pretty interesting

He did say 3 was as useless as tits on a bull but he's obviously changed his mind. :)

While ever there is any link between Pye and Roland Dane, I would be VERY leery of hiring him for ANY team other than a 888-affiliated entity.

If I was Cindric, I'd be looking at what could be done to ensure that Tim Edwards doesn't exercise any valid option on Chaz Mostert, or having a quiet chat with James Moffat. Failing the opportunity to sign Scott McLaughlin, those two would be the only guys I'd be wanting to talk to about driving my second car...

Moffat is still prone to be pretty wild on track though.
One would have thought that all that garbage would have been ironed out by now.

I'd have JM in "our" cars in a heartbeat. I'd just about guarantee he'd be a better prospect than Pye, Roland notwithstanding...

On the topic of Cheeseburger going to T8, Wow didn't see that coming.

I had heard he was on DJRTP radar for next year.

Could be a case of we will sign him up before you do Roger.

If it is the case watchout Roland as Penske could buy the whole V8SC pit lane with his petty cash.
