It was a great game though,. . .the first 15 minutes was return of serve to NSW for the first game.

As expected though a QLD win,. . . . if NSW won this game the stands down south would have been empty,. . . . and we can't have that.

Even the closet NSW supporter from way over in the West is very quiet after sticking it to us QLDer's after the first game...:D[f]

Hey Now Wingman why am I a closet NSW supporter for asking why the QLD supporters were so quiet after the loss in the first game [sh] My point I think was Proven by the fact that the First People to jump up and down about the game this week were all QLD supporters.
I have been on this forum for the past four years and almost every year from my perspective your bretheren from south of the border have always shown a little more class by not doing the deliberate flaming / cheap shots within minutes of the end of the game.

If this is what makes me a closet NSW Supporter so be it at least I know where I stand on this matter.

I still don't know why Tate and Bird got sin binned. Merrin rightly got marched and Hodges did throw a punch but the other two did nothing really. A gross overreaction by sub standard refs. Slater is a G.R.U.B. and I still can't believe that he keeps getting away with nasty cheap shots and his buddies in the media keep telling us all what a splendiferous character he is.[jk]

I agree RJ, no issue with Merrin and Hodges getting marched, the replay clearly shows Hodges getting a few in but Tate and Bird should've stayed on. As for Slater, he plays for the Storm, enough said.

Sheeesh ,. . you westies got thin skin,. . . after the last series I wore a SoO shirt into the office, one of the NSW supporters actually went home . . . . and ,. . . complained to the boss about it,. . . . .this year after game one,. . . they wrapped all my stuff including desk, chair and right down to pens ans staplers in blue crepe paper and you guessed it , . . . . .the ringleader was the sook who went home last year,. . . . after wednesday's game i walked into work to be met by the boss telling me we are not talking about football, there have already been complaints,. . . wtf.

there is an old saying,. . . to the victor goes the spoils, I don't begrudge the NSW fans their time in the sun,. . .( what little they get,. . anyway) but there is always that double standard where they say us Qld/ers "gloat"

When i was a young un leaving senior before going to Uni,. . . we headed west ,. . .this was many years ago,. . . . . we could not believe the westies were using moisturiser on their face and Blow dryers on their hair,. . . guess not much has changed over the years.

TS50 i cant comment on what goes on at your work as i am on the other side of the country however I can make the very real observation that a lot of the QLD supporters are very quick to both Attack and Abuse the NSW supporters and players on this forum when they are winning but if the boot is on the other foot the numerous Supporters from south of your border will infinately show a lot more class and not gloat over what has transcribed. I just find that a large double standard in something that at the end of the day will never really affect the home and away season in the NRL. I admit as with most people whom got into league from this side of the world it was because of the SOO and the Biff that went on. These days you just have to wonder what is there for someone whom does not have an emotional attachment to either state left in state of origin. Maybe we should just go back to the mid 90's when you couldn't even get it outside of NSW or QLD and let you guys duke it out until the end. But Hey what would I Know I'm only a thin skinned Westie After all[sh]

Slater has a looooong history of foul play and getting away with it. Sliding into try scorers with his knees for one and the Karate kick on Dave Klemmer for another. The douche is a protected species over a long period and is a classic example of how some of you Queenslanders have selective memories when it comes to foul play and your Origin "stars". Now and in the future I will point to Mr Slater when any of you scream about NSW conspiracies. Queenslanders get more than a fair rub of the green.

Snappa, I for one am a little tired of the constant "Woe is me" biased crap that comes from the Queenslanders. Queenslanders are poor losers and even worse winners and they wonder why I gave a bit of stick after game one. It goes both ways and I am looking forward to game 3.

I don't get it, I haven't seen any examples of this gloating you're talking about, sure we have our SoO nights up here where we get together with our mates from both sides and make a night of it and if that turns to a bit of sledging, no one seems to mind. I sure can understand if Snappa, you said you're going for the underdog, because up until 3 or 4 years ago Qld always were considered it, but now for obvious reasons NSW would most definately have to be. But the so called classless comments ,. . I'm not seeing them.

I think SoO is all about a bit of fun, and if you're taking it serious enough to pass a judgement on the intent behind a bit of sledging or some celebration from the fans of the winning side, then you're right, probably not the game for you,. .

Me ,. . .I'm just about having a bit of fun, and making SoO noght with the mates some of the best ones of the year,. . [y][y][y] win or lose, it's only a game.

Yeah right Jason.

You didn't behave like a tosser after game 1 over at central did you.

QLD belted NSW senseless in game 2.
They were in till they ran on field. Yet your fearless grub captain is still whinging about being robbed, Just like that fat pig Ritchie from the DT
Don't talk about bad winners or losers.
I can see where it all comes from when you read the trash written in the Sydney papers.

Geez this is getting out of hand, what starts off as our normal yearly banter has degenerated into a he said/done she said/done argument. I know there's not many "She's" here but I had to reread some comments to make sure.

I usually love the sledging between the cane toads and cockroaches at Origin time but some of these accusations and comments are getting way out of hand.

Try and get back into the spirit of the event rather than the current tone and content of this topic or it may as well get locked.

It's fine to whinge and complain or gloat as much as you want but leave the personal comments out of it. Then again some can't take the whinging and some can't take the gloating. [sh]

Same goes for the Election thread as well.[hb]
