If it were up to me Ambrose would be out and Stevie J would be in. Marcos has been one of the greatest disappointments in the history of DJR and that is saying something considering the ups and downs the team has had over the years.

Marcos has been a rallying point. There have been elements within the whole thing that have reverted to the NIMBY bullshit that has blighted the team since the Stones and JB left, and Dick retired from driving. Marcos is many things; intense, difficult, competitive are three of the many... but his ability to surround himself with motivated people is uncanny. There was, it seems, some resistance... and Marcos called them on their bullshit. Good for him, says I. The team's starting to generate a groundswell of feeling that they may well capture the imagination of Ford itself in a way that Prodrive haven't... The Captain hasn't hurt our stocks in that regard either.

As much regard as I have for Stevie J as a driver, his motivation is suspect at best, and absent the rest of the time. He's not hungry. Ambrose is. Marcos stepped out of the car when it was evident that a) it wasn't very good, and b) elements in the team weren't willing to work with him to improve it. It was a gutsy call, and had the potential to attract some further local talent in to fix the problem.. if the existing impediments within the place didn't turn the prospects off....

Surely, SURELY they're going to run two cars next year with Ambrose and Pye. I think any other scenario would be either a pretty big embarrassment or a catalyst for a lot of serious questions to be asked or both. If that does happen, this year will then have justification and it will have proved that there was some method to their madness. If they maintain the status quo and the team keep feeding the public and us fans the same tired story of Ambrose not being "comfortable", then they must sign Pye for a longer term and get rid of Ambrose.

I beleive the enduros are going to answer some very important, long lingering questions. There won't be anywhere for anyone to hide.

To be honest, the whole development scenario must be difficult for a team in this position. Starting with basically nothing and playing catch ups whilst in the back of their mind is the thought that if they aren't at the front by years end, 2016 will be all development just in time for a new car and having to start all over again.
A bit like buying a run down house and finishing rennos just in time to move out.....
