Motorsport M News has reported today that the new driver for HRT 2009 is Will Davison.
Does this mean Steve Johnson will have a seat at DJR for 2009?

Why don't we start a campaign to get DJ back in 17? That would be news!

Seriously though, I think a "Masters" series something like what Brock was trying to get off the ground would be great.

COuld it be that Dumbrell will take his ca$h to the PWR licence, leaving the existing HSVDT licences in the hands of the Glenrowan Bucketheads?

And the second Britek licence goes to Marcus Marshall?

Brighty in a defacto SBR car will be one to watch...

Britek Media Release

BRIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP PROSPECTS WITH STONE BROTHERS RACING

In a bold announcement Fujitsu Racing?s Jason Bright has revealed that he will be setting his sights on winning the 2009 V8 Supercar Championship Series behind the wheel of a Stone Brothers Racing (SBR) prepared Ford Falcon.

Bright?s #25 Fujitsu Racing entry and key staff from his Britek Motorsport operation will relocate to SBRs Queensland based facility, and equally as boldly, create a three-car ?Superteam? to take on the likes of the Holden Racing Team, Triple Eight Race Engineering and Ford Performance Racing.

An enthusiastic Bright is convinced the alignment of the two operations will see instant success on track.

?This is the perfect opportunity to return to the pointy end of the field and the timing for this merger has never been better,? said Bright.

?I?ve tried to push the Fujitsu Racing Falcon well into the top ten and have done so on a number of occasions. However, with a new car coming on stream and the changes in fuel technology we simply don?t have the resources, or time, to research and develop what is needed to be competitive.

?Ross and Jimmy Stone have made great strides in these areas and already have a race-winning package.

?I am delighted to be able to return to a team I enjoyed so much success with when I first started my V8 Supercar career. I?m after my first V8 championship starting right now.?

A decision on the second, currently IRWIN Industrial Tools sponsored, Britek entry will not be made until early December, but this car would also benefit from the SBR alignment and all options are currently being considered.

That is certainly one off the curve balls of this year. But I guess after loosing Fords sponsorship you can't blame him.

Perhaps it was a backdoor method of retaining his Ford connection... after all, they basically set the team up for him, didn't they?

Yeah I agree, I suppose he can still be the team owner in partnership with SBR and they will benefit from extra data and funds, win win situation.[iag]

Smart move by Britek, the sport is fast becoming too expensive and running his car out of stone brothers will help reduce r&d and running costs while providing him with a car that is capable of winning.

What about Steve in the third FPR car?, would be good to see him in a well sorted fast car. Might also help him step out of Dicks shadow and show everyone what a top class driver he is

Brighty in the 3rd SBR car for 09

Actually it will be the first time since Ambrose that SBR will have some one that can take the forward without sticking it in the wall
