Its funny isn't it , Skaife wasn't the fastest and neither was Todd, but they kept a low profile and avoided trouble completely the whole race long , Very similar to sandown really.I thought that driving through annother teams pit area when the crew was preparing to make a team stop, constituted a pit lane infringement, even if it was a genuine mistake. But what is truely amazing is how since Tom Walkinshaw has been involved with HRT again The strategy's they've employed have been very aggressive and almost singularly unique from that of any other team. At Sandown the result would have been well in thier favour with annother safety car period. It's hard to believe that one man,s judgement could make such a huge difference to the fortunes of a team.
When the first round of driver changes occurred it would be interesting to view the footage as the retiring driver entered thier pit garage to see some of the drivers removing thier helmets. I thought i saw a few without Balaclava's on although since i didn't record it , i wouldn't like to comment as to whom i thought it was . After marcos was pinged for the offence , i doubt there would be a single driver who'd admit to being without it previously, particularly on the red team.

bigcol, I would go 1 step further in relation to Nurf's ego! I think it has it's own weather system! If I had been in Ambrose' position Nurf's ego would have been a long way from this solar system.....along with those stupid looking lamb chops.

I can't bring myself to watch the race again, I am still too disappointed.

Just returned after my 19th consecutive trip to the Mountain & unfortunately for the blue oval & me personally, still only 4 Ford victories in that period.

As hard as it is to say, well done to Skaife & Kelly, they drove a superb race in what was not the quickest car on the day & a special mention to Jamie Whincup on an excellent job. What was Gary Rogers thinking when he gave him the boot in 2003..

Craig Lowndes, you need a good hard kick up the bum IMHO. That was just stupid pushing that hard on what was only lap 19..

AS for the Murphy debacle, what a f#@king goose. I'm glad most people agree that it was totally Spud's fault although I haven't seen Ch10's spin on the incident yet so that could be interesting.

DJR, just another frustrating day IMO. Good job by Jnr to unlap himself but it was no use as when the pace car came out, the fuel light was on in #17 & he was coming in reguardless.

Good on Davison on admitting his mistake while pushing hard trying to stay with Skaife & co, but from trackside, Seto definately looked the pick of the 4 DJR drivers all weekend. Well done Glenn.

In summary, just another frustrating day at the mountain on sunday which is just becoming situation normal at Bathurst. Thank god I took plenty of Woodstock Bourbon to not only keep me warm for the 3 days, but to help ease the pain on what was another gut wrenching day for Ford at the mountain..

That is not quite right.. Skaife set a new lap record in the race... He was just smart enough to know when to use the pace he had in the car...

I thought the Dodo car could be the winner until Skaife made a move to the lead on the last few laps before the Ambrose/Murphy incident. When Skaife pass the Dodo car at the end of Conrod it made the pass looked so easy. It was copy book stuff from Skaife.;) Funny how slow Todd was driving at the end, the Dodo car kept on making ground on car 2.

I dont know how you all feel about the Murf/Marcus incident, but if I were in an accident that involved such damage and potential to harm the people in the smashed car, I'd be running to the smashed car to see if they were alright or needed assistance, not standing at my car staring at all the carnage before me doing bugger all else.

Dont know if anybody out there heard this bit of news from Bathurst .

"Last Sunday evening only hours after the Great race, the Bathurst Caltex service station was held up by a group of men coming from the race track. All of the bandits were wearing balaclavas.

No one from Stone Brothers Racing is suspected.:D

I hope that the bandits only walk away with a bit of cash and no one got injured.

If anyone has information that could assist police should call 1800 333 000.

I think HRT were cleaver in putting Skaife and Toddler together that way they had their top drivers racing together and not another part time driver.
As about Spud some one said he was going to see how Ambrose was but Ambrose started to mouth off so Spud then let loose I am not sure about that.
I think that both of them are tools so no great loss I just laughed at the school yard antics by both of them.
Actually I hope Ambrose does not win the title and out of the Ford drivers I hope Ingall does it as he is driving great this year so if a Holden drivers misses the mark (that will happen anyway) go Rusty at least he drove for Holden and came from South Oz and is showing his driving skill now.
I still think if Lowndes did not put the Ford into the wall he would have won silly silly boy. Look were the 88 car finished.
I enjoyed the joke nascar12.

Why wasn't the Pirtek Ford drivers not wearing balaclavas. To state the obvious, if they were wearing it the whole ball game's end result would be dramatically different. Who will have thought that not wearing balaclavas would cost a team a bathurst result but also possibly the championship?

A bank robber wears his balaclava :D

Hmmm JB-17..... Make me thinks that maybe many of the past Holden wins were robbed from us in one way or another.

05, That joke was told to me by local Pirtek area manager on Monday morning.
