I have never been a fan of Skaife, however I do appreciate the fact that he has been a great ambassador for the sport in general. His presentation and intellect has portrayed a positive image for the sport, regardless of whether or not you always agree with what he has said. He could have done better if he drove the right brand of car of course and not hooked up with the likes of Walkforsure!

I guess now would be an appropriate time to say thanks Skaifey and good luck with whatever it is you decide to do and only come back back for the endurance races to screw them up for HRT.:D

I am no Skaife fan either, but no true motorsport fan could knock someone with the record of Skaife. In full flight he was great to watch, an expert behind the wheel. His contibution to Australian motorsport has been far greater than any of the drivers in the current field, he has had success based on ability and commitment without a rich daddy to foot the bill. All the best with the next chapter Skaifey

Who am I going to point and laugh at now? And make fun of his nose being so big he can't shut the visor on his helmet. Sad times indeed....

he won in a Nissan that was unbeatable. Then he won in that Gibson VN with Traction Control... When Gibson lost their winfield money he was average, and when he was #2 to Lowndes he was average.. When Lowndes left they stuck with him and he won Bathurst a few times, and the title a few times.. Then when they decided to put Tander at HRT he was shit again.

He's been the master at being in the right car at the right time, and everytime things got a bit tough, he went missing.

No respect from me. But i'll miss him.. I, like others, enjoyed laughing at his big nose..

The only bad thing about him leaving is that we might lose Davo because of this.
Otherwise, so long Skaify, "heres your hat, whats your hurry"!

I'm a bit of a believer in if you don't say something nice, say nothing; so on the occasion of the retirement of one of the most prolific winners in the sport, just let me say......

um.....

er.....

Sorry, I got nuthin'.

After today's performance, I almost feel sorry for the guy....

but no I don't. [gcs]

What is wrong with him? Does he have some motor-neurone disease and he's not letting on? His team-mate sticks it on pole and he's 21st? And then he proceeds to wobble around for race 1. Best to call it quits and stick Seto in for a bit.[y]

So Seto' can qualify 29th and wobble around at the tail 3 laps down, and the likes of Joe can come on here and make excuses for him?[hb][hb][hb]

Joe's a wanker.

Skaifey has been blessed with some of the hottest machinery ever.
He was good while he had the best but often struggled when the car wasn't 100% to his liking.
He's been lucky with the teams he's been with.

On his day, one of the best, but quite ordinary when he's in machinery that isn't quite right

Todays qualifying and racing prooves he has made the right choice
or should i say that MacNamara and Walkinshaw made the choice for him

But I guess what I am trying to get at is, that his decline has been SO rapid.

BTW, sticking Seto in the car was tongue-in-cheek [:p]

Look, since they took the traction control out of his car and reduced his advantage over the field, he's been an also ran.

He was the same in the nissans really except they had the boost pressure increase controll illegally installed in the cars boost guage to give them an advantage over the field, again as Col says when he's been in them best machinery he's been the best , when he's in average machinery he's been very average, i definately won't mis him, his condecending remarks when he looses and his gloating when he wins, he's about on a par with Spud or a brown snake in my book.

Good riddance!
