Steve will pick up a good drive for the enduros next year. I wonder if FPR will grab him? Maybe our team can secure him!

Cheers

[sh] Who be little Marvin??

Marvin The Magnificent was The Ford Hero when I was a wee tacker... he even had a whopping big "M" on the side of his helmet, like a proper superhero...

Even given the temperance that comes with advanced age, I have high hopes for James M...

Well I have never heard him being refered to as Marvin at all so I never knew the M stood for Marvin just thought it was short for Moffat. I probally wasn`t into it as much then as Today either. Speedway was more of a thing for me back then as well. Ron Wanless in The Big 9 was a legand.

But thanks for letting me know! :D

Marvin was an invention of 'Plastic' Pemberton, Holden's PR man. Brock and Grice called him that to try and get under his skin. It stuck.

What about the 76!!

Absolutley mate, use to kick the black buts of Blair Shepard & Bob Morgan 99 & 66 ( Sure of 99 but not so 66 )

There was always plenty of passion on & off the track in those days with a full packed exhabition grounds getting right behind their heros. Ron Wanless had away of exciting peoples emotions as did a saloon car driver called Stewy Taylor. Just about garentee a good old biffo on Sat night at the Speedway for sure.

Kev Jefferson was 60, then there was Gary Sacre, Bill Goode, Gus McLure, Steve Howman, Brian and Ian Finglas................
