As much as I am a fan of Jnr, I would love to see Wilbo and Steve Owen steering next year.

I would love to see both Jnr and Will remain at DJR for next year. I don't think we've seen the best of either driver yet, get them some new gear and watch them go. I think they work well together and I would like to see the team have some stability moving forward into the new model.

Don't be too hard on Jnr. I think his car is knackered, it's got to be one of the oldest cars in the field at the moment and just won't respond to changes the way a younger car will. Look at wet track performance as a guide as it tends to level out the 10th or 2 edge of chassis performance and bring the cars back to a closer parity. 17 was consistently posting top 5 times on a wet track a Sandown, when the track dried the car went back to mid field times again. To me that indicates there is nothing wrong with the driver, just the car can?t be adjusted fine enough for the knife edge performance required on a dry track.

Keep both drivers. They have a lot to offer and are 2 of the cleanest in the business.

Damned fine annalys of chassis dynamics for mine, and I agree with it.

Wills effort is out standing from yesterday and today and Steve is still holding out well around the back of the ten, when new chassis come I'm confident the results will improve in both number and consistancy.

I am fairly certain that Steve's car is a 2003 chassis and is the oldest car in the field now. A car that is in it's 5th season will never be able to compete with a brand new one. The technology is ever changing and improving and Steve just has to stick it out for the rest of this year. Will did an awesome job in a car that is also one of the oldest in the field too. He reminds me of a young Craig Lowndes dragging an AU Falcon further up the grid than it should have been. Even my good old mate Fabian at Glenfords / PCR has a newer car than these guys.

I know this isnt directly to do with the title of this post but, why can't Steve's and Will car still be called BA's as they are 2004 / 2005 chassis?

Or more so how can they be called BF's?

Steve's car was debuted at the sandown 500 in 2004 'XYGT Rep' where it finished 3rd with Steve & Luffy at the wheel. Wilbo's chassis was new for Seton in 05.

Nascar, probably the reason that their not 'called' BA's anymore is because their running BF aero which was slightly changed from the mighty BA. Probably with the obvious exception of Marshalls IRWIN car, their probably the only real non-BF's in the field.

Spot-On Rob18.

The change from BA to BF was only the aero/cosmetic package (much the same as VT/VX & VY/VZ were). Almost all Main Game BAs were converted to BF specs. Some have since been 're-verted' to BA specs to run in the Fujitsu Series.

A better question is: how was the ex-Max Wilson WOW car (originally built as a BF) allowed to be 'converted' to a BA (which it NEVER was!) for Baird to run in the Fujitsu Round @ QLD Raceway ???????

Oh! - did I hear someone say that Paul Morris is on the Board ???

Thanks for that Rob 18. 2 very old cars by todays standards.

& a lot of the reason they have lasted that long is because of the quality of drivers they have had in that period. Not just Jnr & Wilbo, but the various enduro drivers through that period & not forgetting our old pal Seto either. Could you imagine where DJR would be now if we've had a Courtney or a Dumbrell as one of our drivers.... DJR would have been gooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnee!
