When you consider how old that thing is, to finish 5th overall & ahead of both 888 cars is a tremendous effort. Will is on top of his game at the moment & considering he got roughed up again by the 88, it was a bloody good effort to bring home the 18 in a strong 5th place.

Well done DJR...

Took the words right out of my mouth DJR-1980. It would be an absolute tragedy for Will to leave DJR without a real crack at it in some decent gear. He is doing a great job at the moment in a 3.5 year old chassis.
Steve on the other hand...I just dunno whats going on there. Sure he has had more than his share of bad luck, but he is being consistently smoked by his team mate at all tracks. I can't believe the difference between the cars at each meeting in both qualifying and race trim. It's going to be an interesting off-season for DJR with no more Ford $$ and both drivers off contract at the end of 2008!

Will is keeping his options open for 2009! I would love to see him stay at DJR, but i guess it will come down to $$$'s in the end.

its not all doom and gloom guys, I really think Will would prefer to stay at DJR next year to see what he can do in some brand new equipment, my gut feeling after speaking to him is that he will stay.

If not, then we need to consider our options.

Will to FPR?

Will to HRT? (god no)

Steve Owen in #18?

Steve Owen in #18 and Courtney to #17? and S. Richards to Courtneys vacant SBR Spot and perhaps junior to take on a senior managment role at DJR in preperation for DJ in handing over the reins?

Who knows...

any other options?

Perhaps and I personally hope that things remain the same for 2009, I would love to see both Steve and Will in 'new' equipment next year and both to remain at DJR.

Courtney all but confirmed for FPR Dealer Team next year.

A decision on Will is still two months away yet, I spoke with Charlie today.

Had a chat to Dick at the Team Mates night and he stated contingency plans are in place if Will leaves DJR.

Hard to imagine the possibility of Wilbo leaving.

Being a predominately family based team , probably more so than others, you'd have to the made of the right stuff to fit in properly with them, as well as put up top performances on the track too.
