Can anyone shed some light on the rumors of a DJR / T888 merger to a four car team in 2007. Some people have been saying DJR do not have a budget for 2007 and this is there only option? I hope none of this is true, but since Shell left in 2004 things have been on a downward spiral.

I haven't heard anything about a 888 merger. There was the FPR link but that was put to bed a while ago.

Has anyone else heard anything?

I think I read some gossip at V8 central like that bundy bear.
I've often wondered if Betta Electrical would still be involved in supercars as 888 will be going with Vodaphone $$$ next year. Will DJR pick them up as their sponsor?

I hope none of it is true, but with the sale of all the DJR Musem cars and yet another DJR Shop sale are they trying to rack up dollars quickly to finish the season???

:(

For what it is worth, I heard the 888 rumours at the Mt also, heard Jnr in an interview on Friday talking about how DJR cars are way behind other Fords in current go fast bits due to budget but things were going to be very different next year, and the trackside commentators seemed to hint at some sort of change in the air again but obviously did'nt elaborate.

Hmmm, Vodaphone are going to be 888 sponsors next year right?

Consider the possibility of Betta Electrical coming on board with DJR, maybe

Betta Electrical are officially in the hands of receivers at the moment so I doubt they will be sponsoring anyone.

Auto "craption" magazine has said Betta Electrical receivers have paid up sponsorship until mid October for 888 (which is now). Don't know what colours they will be running after that as it sounded like Vodaphone starts next year (more red Ford cars :()

The list of sponsors who've put big dollars into V8 teams and then died is getting up there

is there a curse ?

Interesting reading in AA today.. The seem to think a deal for a tech partnership is close to being done (they hinded at 888) & an anouncement was due at the end of the month (Can't remember if the meant end of October or end of November).

And they had 4 options for backers, with First Rock unlikely to return as major spsoner.

I only hope for jnr's sake the get some 888 chassis's to play with next year!!

heres a copy of what I have sent to DJR - ::::

Hi,

The entire support network from Club 17 has been slightly dismayed by the lack of information regarding the future of the team. We are a group of supporters who have been loyal to DJR for many years - we invest our time to enjoy the rewards of seeing the team climb it's way back to the front - yet we feel we are being left out of the loop regarding the furure of "our" team, and indeed, it is our team, for without supporters/fans, a team is nothing.

We would appreciate some form of response, and moreso, some more press releases regarding race results - as they seem to be fairly thin on the ground.

I trust you can help us all with our requests,

Kind Regards

Doug Honeywill

Doug ,I hope we get a response, I think at the least they could let us know the rumours that are incorrect even if they won't tell us the real news.
In all honesty i can't blame DIRECT@DJR since she probably can only put up the info as it becomes available; and with the GM4Sandman/Sandman4EVER character turning every thread into a sh1tfight. why would they bother. I will email also.

I'm sure they get just as frustrated as we do by the annual DJR open season which seems to be launched every year in the lead up to the enduro's. It's actually funny to see the guy who is the root cause of most of the rumors surrounding DJR get up on his high horse and defend some other teams for questionable manouvers they have made in recent rounds.
Of course none of that makes being a DJR fan any easier when open season begins each year, perhaps if they weren't so seemingly opposed to keeping the fans informed, there would be no basis on which the usuals could start the crap.
