per capita!?

I think you better do your math again... NSW has 2 or 3 million more people, and about 10 more football clubs... AND we've had this argument before... if you want the numbers, go to the NRL thread and have a look... Gold Coast and North QLD's crowd's are on par with the Sydney clubs, and Brisbane is obviously an exception. They were the only team in the state for 10 years, and with all their success they've built a huge supporters base.... But things will change once they put a second team in there..

ANZ is 30,000 seats bigger than Suncorp... i think you'll find we've sold well over 50,000 (Suncorp's Capacity) already...

I seem to remember that great Queenslander Gordan Tallis calling for Game 3 of the series not to be played when we had won the first 2... There's a good example of the invisible QLD spirit...

Sydney has 35% of Australias population and you can't fill ANZ.
Yeah you blokes give a shit

Like i said we fill it in minutes.

Good on Gordy
Unlike the pea hearts in NSW who say SoO is dead.
Thats only because you've had your arses handed to you on a platter

NSW are full of talk. Just listen to the crap [jk] Benny the ***** came out with today about the flood victims.

*****

Actually seeing the Cockroaches win wouldn't be all that bad for the sport.
Even i get sick of winning all the time

No one says it's dead... You have to understand that YOU LIVE IN QLD... I've been up there to visit family and you turn the news on and it's all 'Queenslander' this, and 'Queensland's favourite son' that...... Your journalists write that junk because, like i said, you have 'little state syndrome' :p

You also need to understand that what they say and do in Sydney is not representative of the rest of the state... there's a reason we have 'City vs Country'... (well, there used to be anyway)...

There might be some toffs in Sydney that have turned their back and started following the Swans and the Waratahs... but you come down to my place in Wollongong, or travel out to Campbelltown, or down to Canberra, and you tell me that New South Welshman dont have any passion for the game...

Get your head out of your ****...

Get your head out of your ****...

This bits a little uncalled for Mitchell, you of all people as an ex administrator should know better.

Sure you and Bigcol are both passionate and will not see eye to eye on this but the personal stuff needs to be kept out of it.

If you blokes think 'get your head out of your arse' is a low blow you must be very pleasant young gentleman :D

I write this stuff with a smile on my face, as i'm sure bigcol does... we've both been on this forum since the beginning and it's nothing personal.. it's just banter...

It's what State of Origin is all about!

I have heated discussions with my closest mates every week about the footy... doesnt mean i dont like them..

i think you guys need to go back to your corners and relax...

If i saw bigcol tomorrow i'd laugh and shake his hand....

And if you think i'm a pleasant gentleman then you obviously haven't met me then Mitch..and you wouldn't be calling me a young fellow either....[crackup]

I could make the paint peel if i got started.

I love Origin time and listening to the passion of supporters, I used to go to games sometimes just to listen to the banter between rival fans.[bx]

Enjoying this argument as well, waiting for Bigcol's reply as unfortunately I think Mitchell has the lead at this stage.

Little state syndrome, Yeah right, pull the other one.

We just enjoy kicking the arrogant bigger brothers arse. We all now the one.
He expects to win regardless of effort
And there's a reason for it. NSW bought the best QLD players and then sent them back wearing blue jerseys, and while all that poker machine money kept coming in we kept getting flogged year in year out but every now and then we'd upstage all the fancy boys from down south and win, and when we did we savoured every moment of it, and even to this day QLDers love to kick the arse of the arrogant blues.

You're no different to the halwits that right articles for the Telecrap. The quicker you blokes you realise that people outside of NSW [Newcastle,Sydney,Woolongong] can play rugby league the better the blues will go. Their biggest downfall is they think the world revolves around NSW.

My best interstate memory has nothing to do with SoO.

It was when a Barry garbo Muir lead QLD side kicked the arse of the then Australian side wearing a blue jersey

QLD tried the we're all mates stuff with the blues through the 90's early 00's and played with next to no passion.
As a QLDer i was horrified when the blues ran in 50 odd points against QLD. It was the first time i had ever seen a QLD side run the white flag up and it was nothing short of pathetic.

You'll never see a QLD side do that again. Fortunately for us , blokes like Meninga have instilled the hate back

Well i thought NSW played out of their skin, but at the end of the day there is no substitute for class, and QLD have it in spades.

If we had just held our line for 5mins at the end, we could have won it (against all odds)

If we can pull off a victory in game II in Sydney, this will go down as one of the greatest ever Rugby League match ups...

I certainly enjoyed those back-to-back tries from NSW... Cant remember the last time i yelled so loud!

NSW have nothing to be ashamed of.

The Blues have finally picked a team that will man up and dig deep when needed rather than the peahearts like Hayne.

Give me a team of hardworkers over the flashy players anyday.
It's worked for QLD for years. Admitted QLD has the superstars but they stick their hands up when it's needed.

Blues nearly got away with that one

How good is that QLD spirit.

Losing the lead and hitting back straight away

Lesser teams would have been shell shocked

Was a very good game, NSW did a lot better than I expected, pity Stuart and Gallen can't accept the result without blaming the refs for the outcome. Three penalties in the game and Gallen was on the footy show again last night saying QLD were getting away with everything whilst NSW were getting penalised.

C'mon Poita,

I think Gal was pretty gallant in defeat, he just mentioned a couple of obvious poor calls, just as any captain would. He is still hurting, lets hope that hurt hangs around for a few weeks and inspires them more for game 2.

Personally it sickens me that they shake hands after the game, it's not finished yet, have a laugh and a beer after game 3, no matter what the results.

On that note I think Mitchell and Big Col should keep this up for the series, there lasts posts were a bit diplomatic......[rt]
