NSW have just announced their team for game 1, WTF goes through their minds when they pick a team? Ricky stated the team is picked on form, well I suppose he is right as most of the backline they have picked have not showed any great form this year.

[crackup][crackup][crackup]

QLD six series in a row.

Never right the cockroaches off.

With some of the calls QLD has recieved over the years it wouldn't suprise me to see something really dodgey to get the NSW interest up

Whats with Stuart saying that Haynes best position is in the 6 jumper? I'd have him in 6 over Soward anyday. Geeez. Oh well Go the Blues!

They reckon Hayne has attitude issues.

As a New South Welshman, I can say that NSW have no chance once again. They have the collective ability but the selectors have other idea's.

With the State of Origin being so lop-sided in recent history, I think it hurts the game as it was once Rugby League at the highest level. I don't think it is anymore, and that is a real shame for mine.

You blokes just need to suck it in. :D
For many, many years before SoO Queensland never stood a chance of beating NSW because NSW selected all the top Qld players who were playing in Sydney.
They made sure we were only able to field a "second string" team of part timers.
That's where the Qld passion started - we never gave up.
Until the Blues (maybe you need to change the colour) get rid of the blues, they will never be a patch on Qld.
Supporters always turned up to Lang Park in their thousands and were always hopeful of a Qld victory. If the Qld team was thrashed, they were still wildly cheered because they never gave up and that's the major difference.
The post match piss ups were always pretty good too. [sc]

Personally I think this is a good NSW team and will give the Dark Pink team a run. The decision to pick players in position is long overdue and Hayne has not been at his best since 2009 and the wingers were a walk up.

Saying origin has lost its sting because of a Queensland dynasty is pretty out there. Don't forget the Blues won three straight prior to that and everyone was saying the same thing. The series are still tight and the games as good as they should be, it's not as if Queensland have come out and won the last 15 games by 20 or 30 points.

Yep, i'm with you.. i think it's a great side. Picking Soward and surrounding him with players that know his game is a smart move from Sticky... Our forward pack is big and tuff, and there is plenty of pace on the flanks.. it's as good a side as we can pick. Hayne is a selfish footballer, and i'm glad he's not there... i thought Idris would get a run, but i'm not unhappy with Jennings.... He's a good player, and the confidence Stuart has showed in him will make him lift his game...

Bring it on...

HA! What a crock of shit...

Until Lockyer/Thurston/Slater/Smith, Origin was even.... This is the greatest QLD team of all time, and as you say, we New South Welshman just need to suck it up... It's got nothing to do with less passion from the Blues or some special Queenslander spirit... you've just got better players at the moment... simple as.

Wind the clock back a few years and we won three in a row with Johns, Buderus, Fitler and whoever else...

And i'll tell you now... Boyd/Neilson/Tonga/Yow Yeh and Harrison/Myles/Thaiday.... or Morris/Jennings/Gasnier/Uate and Bird/Gallen/Scott....... i wouldnt be so confident... Lockyer's getting old, and Meninga's getting cocky...

Spoken like a true Cockroach

You've obviously turned the TV off when QLD have been absolutely out of it and have guts it out for a win.
I thought you Blues supporters would know the never die attitude the Maroons have.

When the Blues really get what Origins about they might have won 5 series in a row by then

The Blues had better win game 1 otherwise the chain saw will come out to carve this side up again

That Andrew Johns should be erased from the history books.
That ******* was high as a kite ***** his entire playng career.
Must sit pretty well with the Blues supporters knowing that you won those series with your star player taking performance enhacing drugs

And why was it that QLD constantly found themselves in a position to have to 'come from behind' for all those years with the caliber of player at your disposal?

Lewis, Meninga, Lockyer, Webcke, Langer.... you've never been short of a superstar..

QLD spirit is a myth that you've created for yourselves. I liken it to Little man syndrome... Always comin' out swingin for no reason because you feel like we're out to get you.

New South Wales is the first state, and the best state. Just because you recruited a few Blues over the years to beat us, doesnt mean you win :p

Anyone bothered to check where Willie Tonga was born, by the way? Replace Inglis from Kempsey and Folau from Minto with Tonga from Canberra...

Good work QLD..

Last time i looked a game of Rugby League was 80 minutes. We can't help if your pea heart players only play for 75

Bringing the same tired old bullshit line out again.
Care to tell me where Sterlo originated. Or Jarryd Hayne trainwreck, Or even Steve Rogers. Hayne even represented some Pacific nation in the world cup

Doesn't matter where they were born it's where they played their first senior game.
You might want to ask Inglis why he preferred to play for QLD rather than the state he was born in.

Qld spirit is alive and well. Keep telling yourself there is none and it will be 6 series losses in a row before you know it

NSW. The best part of it your bankrupt shithole is the road out of it.

Any wonder why QLDers wan't to see you cockroaches fail with an attitude like that.
Even the Mexicans from the deep south hate you

Everyone hates us because we're top of the tree. The original and the best :D

If it's 6 in a row it's because QLD have a freakishly good side, it's got nothing to do with attitude or anything else...

Lockyer & Thurston are better players than Pearce & Soward... just like Fitler & Johns were better players than Lamb & Ikin...

Every year we have to hear the shit about Queenslanders caring more about Origin. Well i live here mate, and i know how much I care, how much all the blokes i work with care, the guys i go to Uni with care, and the guys i play Touch footy with...... i've never encountered any rugby league fan that doesnt care!

Last year i was in the UK for all 3 Origins, live at 9am in the morning. I was up, at the local pub, by myself, dressed in sky blue.... the publican thought i was mad. Instead of a beer i had a full english! lol

How you can believe it for a second is ridiculous... Sydney and NSW is the home of rugby league, it always has been and always will be...

Mate even you beloved Guss Gould reckons the new home of Rugby League is QLD

NSW may have started it but with the pathetic crowd attendences by the largest state in Australia just prooves most don't give a shit. gAyFL was invented in Victoria and look at how the punters support that crap

Hell how many of the thousands that marched to save Souffs actually even bother showing up to their games.

Per capita QLD shits all over NSW as far as match attendences go.
You blokes can't even fill ANZ stadium when the SoO is on.
We sell it out Lang Park in minutes

Mitchell

per capita!?

I think you better do your math again... NSW has 2 or 3 million more people, and about 10 more football clubs... AND we've had this argument before... if you want the numbers, go to the NRL thread and have a look... Gold Coast and North QLD's crowd's are on par with the Sydney clubs, and Brisbane is obviously an exception. They were the only team in the state for 10 years, and with all their success they've built a huge supporters base.... But things will change once they put a second team in there..

ANZ is 30,000 seats bigger than Suncorp... i think you'll find we've sold well over 50,000 (Suncorp's Capacity) already...

I seem to remember that great Queenslander Gordan Tallis calling for Game 3 of the series not to be played when we had won the first 2... There's a good example of the invisible QLD spirit...
