Money, The A1GP is broke and can't pay bills from last season. The cars are still locked away and no teams have had access to them. They are talking about having a test day next Thursday at Willowbank if they do manage to arrive.

If they don't turn up, there will be as many (longgggggg....) gaps in the program as there will be a @ PI in November!

Leave it to the Qld Government not to bother checking if their option after Indy was actually viable, the Taxpayers have taken another hit.[bgn]

it looks like jeff grech has left sprint gas racing after bathurst

"Sprint Gas Racing has announced that its Sporting Director, Jeff Grech, has left the team and that Mike Henry will take over the role.
Grech, who worked for Holden Racing Team before joining Sprint Gas Racing in 2007, finishes up at the team today (Friday) to concentrate on business interests outside of motorsport."

Hey V8 supercars here is your chance to put on some of the better support catergories eg Sports sedans, Group A Touring cars, and Appendix J. If this is a sign of things to come V8SC could get the Shannons Nationals to go to the Gold Coast ohhh and the Fujitsus.

From reports I have heard today, the A1's will be a no show on the Gold Coast, instead of 2 x 200K races for V8 Supercars, there will now reportedly be 4 x 150K races spread over the two days.

NEXT week's Gold Coast Super GP has lost its showcase event, with red-faced organisers to confirm this afternoon the A1GP race will be scrapped.
It is understood that the A1GP cars still remain locked up in London, forcing Gold Coast organisers to abandon the category and turn the event into a V8 Supercar only show.
Instead of the planned two 200km races, the V8 series will instead stage four 150km races - two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Acting Premier Andrew Fraser said yesterday the State Government would take legal action against the A1GP organisers for "tarnishing the event".

They could put on some more Aussie Racing Cars as well - at least they're always entertaining.
The dude in charge of A1GP has said that all the money that has been prepaid to them will be returned and contractors who are out of pocket will be reimbursed, $50000 donation to charity...........yeah right!!
