Should Dean Fiore step aside, who do you think will drive for us?

I would like to see Patrizi get the nod.

I think he would be a really good fit in the team,
he has a lot ability and should not have the pressure on him that Tekno would have put him under.
But then again we have had some pretty good talent at DJR who fail to live up to expectations.
Will have to wait and see...:D

I'd be talking to Lowndes. Maybe not for this year but when he's off contract.

Stoner is being prepped to go into replacing someone in T8 and Whincup has plenty of seasons left in him.

I'm not sure the pressure will be any less at DJR, possibly might be higher considering that Tekno have a working relationship with 888 and benefit from combined knowledge in regards to development and setups.

Also his performance after the bright incident at sandown is not an isolated one off, I have heard he is prone to explode at team members/sponsors/anybody in close quarters at the wrong time which probably isnt the kind of person DJR need at the moment.

Talent wise, I'm not confident he has what it takes to drive a team foward but you never know & if he happens to come along to DJR and prove me wrong on all of the above, well then I'd welcome that too

Look, I know I don't have my ducks in a line here.
But my thoughts go back to Bathurst a couple of years ago where there was an issue with Ausdrill. Something happened sponsor wise that wasn't pleasant. I can't say it's all connected, but is this the sort of drama we need?

*im going off my memory here, happy to be set straight

The drama at Bathurst was with The owner of Texonsite, he punched Patrizi smack on the nose. I think you will find Ausdrill is a company that Patrizis family are involved, yep hes another little rich kid.
With regard to whos driving car 12 next year, Fiore said at the djr drive day in December he needed to find a few million to stay in the seat and that it was hard to find funding. I guess at the end of the day car 12 is really a DJR customer car and Fiore will decide who drives it. Diehard DJR fans need to hope Steve has a standout year in the new cotf, how good would it be to see car 17 up there!

You have Ducks ???[crackup]

I think he ( Patrizi ) did a reasonable job in the Porsches, but in the Taxi's he's proven to be a desperado and downright dangerous at times , he is very like Rik Kelly was in his first couple (5) of years, a sence of entitlement, not a team player or willing to concede where there is a faster car looking to get by.
Bright may have summed him up correctly just before Bathurst when he said this is a spoiled rich kid who won't be there when the mining boom ends,. . . . with problems and halts being put on CSG opperations that end could be close, there are a hell of a lot of cheap young chinese engineers out there right now and not as many jobs as there used to be.

I guess the biggest issue is that there is not to much to choose from.
how do we get a name driver when they do not know the sponsorship/funding that is available.
Tv deal has not yet been announced and a lot of unknowns in the team.
limited testing of our COTF package will not help to hit the ground running.
Can only hope a rabbit is pulled from the hat and all goes as those who make the decisions within DJR would want.

Well it looks very much like we'll be bottom dwellers again still.
If DJR aren't strong enough to buy a gun driver, and we only use cashed up bogans to drive the number 2 car and Jnr in 17, we'll exist only to make up the numbers in the whole supercar circus.....

Ok so I guess I know a little more than some on Here (being from Kalgoorlie) Michaels father does not own any of ausdrill that I am Aware of. It is a tie up from many years ago when they were a private company owned by a guy called Ron Sayers. It is now a publicly traded company. His father was a part owner in an engineering firm in kalgoorlie which was bought out by Downers. I can remember Michael as a nine or ten year old when his family lived next door to a friend of mine He was always heavily involved in karting and was quite a good young kid. His old man is still well connected within the mining service industry and that is how he can get a substantial dowry together.

Whilst he's not my favourite driver out there I would be happy enough if he were to drive the number twelve next year.

To be perfectly honest I don't care who drives it, as long as DJR start getting results.

Hmm, maybe I should have said I don't care 'within reason'. I would not be too happy to see Murphy in the seat, since he is going to be without a full time drive, or Steven Richards (though he has flashes of brilliance).

If Bright was available......

We probably won't know anything until before the test day at SMP. There doesn't appear to be any sponsorship news either but Dick keeps saying that they are financially better off next year so who knows?[sh] I keep hoping.

I guess no or very little money divided between 2 cars has to be better than little or no money spread over 4.
ps: really do love the team but that one was just to good to pass up [crackup]

Would we have been a chance of hanging on to Moffat and the Norton dollars if the leasing of the Fiore rec had been decided sooner ??

How much sooner as it's been pretty common knowledge for a couple of months now?

If the structure of DJR remains the same, it won't matter who you put in the second car as we will still be cellar dwellers
