Car 17

Steve had issues towards the end of Session B and was taken back to the pit garage by a tow truck.

I went into the indoor paddock area to sus it out and just as I did the boys got 17 fired up again and Steve went out for Session C.

Unfortunately Steve only completed 5 laps before the problems resurfaced and finished down in 22nd place.

After the session finished I headed back to the paddock and the boys had already started changing an engine. I managed to grab a couple of pics;

The word around was that it may have thrown a power-steering belt which in-turn stopped the oil pump, but that is not 'official'.

Now Im not into omen's, but in these situation's I am if I can find a positive one. In Session 3 in WA, Steve only did 3 laps when a crank sensor failed, and he recovered to have a very strong weekend culminating in a 2nd on Sunday afternoon.

Here's hoping recent history can occur again and Steve find's form over the weekend!!

JC had a quiet day finishing in 7th so expect some more from him tomorrow.

Not one of James' best laps. Got outta shape behind the train station, but at least he is somewhere up the front.

Steve will start from 16th and I am very nervous as he is in the company of Bright, Grub Kelly and The Giz.

My bet is that there will be carnage over the back of the circuit on the first lap. Hopefully the boys can steer clear of it and move forward throughout the duration of the race. There will be plenty of safety cars for accidents and debris so anyone there or there about's will be in the mix.
