Supercarnivale?

Does anyone understand this Supercarnivale rules rubbish? Why do we have to introduce international drivers into our series for one race? Does Tony COChrane think that v8supercars should come under the same rules as a chook raffle?. Sure it would be great to watch some internationals have a drive, but not at the expense of our championship. This is motorsport, thats right sport, perhaps the Australian swim team should introduce one swimmer in the 4x100 relay at the olympics that can't swim!

You are absolutly right and most here would agree with what you say. But when you mix motorsport and Cocrane, you get "Sports Entertainment" and that's all this V8SuperCar(nival) will amount to.

And the problem with that is, its right in the middle of what I thought everyone believed was a SERIOUS race car championship. The more of these ideas they come up with.....and the bloody timing of them....and the already crappy mainstream media news coverage the category gets.....the more of a joke the thing looks like. If I was Scott Pruett or Mark Blundell, I'd come drive the ass off someone else's car for fun too.....I wonder how much they are being paid...are the teams paying..if they are, they'll be paying for the drivers and the damage they do to their cars in the middle of a season...

ie. 8.6.4.1(a) (ii) - ALL Team Members MUST wear a CLOWN SUIT (including Red Nose & Big Shoes) at ALL times during the SuperFARCE weekend !

Danica crashed out of her first race, while coming 21st and accident happened well in front of her and instead of going by the book and staying high she turned down the track, lost it and drove up into the wall ending the race with a dnf.


Not really the best choice for us, but it would get some major publicity, in her nascar race it was like no one else was on track, even after she crashed out they spent a lot of time anylising her stupidity.

Unfortunately this is still more of the Government's position being forced onto the event.
When Bligh and Spence told us all that there would never be an event on the streets of the gold coast that only had V8's as the premier drawcard, and that without an international category there would be no future for it, and it seems the only way they can save face and of course disgustingly slaver over some international stars, is to add drivers to our race because there is no other series coming here at this point.
