Whats with the seven compulsory pitstops for Bathurst.
Cannot believe that in order to have a "close and fair "race they have to manipulate the race so that cars which do not have such good fuel economy can be competitive.
next you will have to seek race controls permission to overtake.......
Really starting to loose interest in this form of racing!![jk]

This is a totally useless solution that doesn't help the Mercs or the Nissans at all. They will have to carry more fuel than the Fords and Holdens to cover the same distance between pitstops and then spend more time refueling. All this has achieved is that the Mercs and Nissans will have slower lap times and longer pit stops. Bizarre! [sh]

IIRC, Last year Whincup won it after 6 stops, with Reynolds right behind him after stopping 7 times.

E85 was averaging about 25 laps so needed six stops (the last a splash/half-fill).

However the COTF fuel cells have a smaller capacity (112 litres?) so you're looking at less than 25 laps per fill.

If you average 22 laps - you're up for a seventh stop.

(safety cars not withstanding!)
