This is a question that i wish to know the answer too.

i was at diannes models today in loganholma and they had a DJR Shell helix AU Falcon, unshure of manufacturer.

the name on the door was Ritter and the number was 71, i quizzed dianne and she didnt know weather he ran the whole series or just a few races, i said that they couldve run that car for him to get him used to driving the AU for when he drove in the enduros with djr, but i cant fully recall if he did drive in the enduros.

whats the deal??

I can't recall 71 exactly, but the same question came up on another site when SBR ran three AUs at I think Adelaide. A Pirtek car (Ambrose) and two Havoline cars (for Besnard and Gardner). DJR probably did the same thing, but I can't recall at which rounds. It must have been back before franchises limited the car entries.

It was back a few years ago boys. 2002 perhaps
71 was entered in a few races but had to pre qualify.
If I remember correctly he only qualified for a few races.
EC was one. In that race the Motor expiried I think that was the race that DJR began to have engine dramas.
I am sure other people will fill in the gaps of my poor motoersport memory.

Yep, failed to qualify for Phillip Island in it's 1st appearance & then at EC it shat it self. IIRC at EC though, he had faster race laps than either Jnr or the Rat.

SBR ran the three-car operation at Adelaide, Eastern Creek and Hidden Valley. Gardner raced at Adelaide and Hidden Valley, but didn't prequalify at Eastern Creek. Ritter ran #71 at Phillip Island and Eastern Creek. Ritter didn't pre-qualify at Phillip Island, but raced at Eastern Creek, where he did quite well, if you ask me. 2002 was the year. Ritter also drove in the enduros where he famously outqualified #17, and shot himself in the foot at the press conference.
