So the powers to be have now banned post race burnouts, the reason is due to the tight time constraints with the television coverage.
"come on" is the person making the decisions on this sort of stuff a bloody nun?
Next we will be running standard exhausts to keep the noise down, maybe even mudflaps to reduce the spray in wet races.

The more stupid decisions the powers to be at V8SUPERCARS make, the more i enjoy watching the touring car masters.

It's a very poor reactive strategy to the Gis's burnouts last weekend.
The joke continues ...........[bgn]

the reason they have stopped burnouts is that FORDS do better burnouts than holdens so the whinging holden drivers have put a stop to it

sounds to me like cochrane saw the ratings for the royal wedding and thought that a bunch of [strike]people[/strike] pompous self righteous clowns driving around waving seemed to draw the crowds and decided it could work in his favour...

I await the announcement cochrane has launched a team to run himself and jamie whinchump, followed by a claim that 2 billion people watched the v8 telecast the weekend of his debut race[jk]

I thought V8's was now about entertainment, not racing. Following that logic, I find it hard to believe they have banned something that is entertaining.

And the reasoning is due to tv commitments. How often have we seen them cut short or not telecast the podium anyway? Would much rather see them do burnouts and entertain the crowd than thank their mum, dad, team, sponsors etc on the podium.

The other furphy here is that it promotes bad behaviour on the roads. Then why do they have the bikes and utes out on the track doing burnouts at every break between categories?

Now! don't you start bringing 'common sense' & 'logic' into the equation !!!

Totally agree with them on this, bloody sensible idea not to have the drivers smoking them up after a race.

Don't you know that smoking is BAD for you...

Just joking, Cochbrain your a tool.....[crackup][crackup][crackup]

Not to mention the influence on P platers to do monster smokey burnouts outside the local 7-11 in their fully sick VL's  What a joke, if people don't know the difference between the road and a race track they shouldn't have a drivers license.

They must be trying to get rid of the Bogan fans and attract more family orientated crowds. Next they have a 40k zone on the main straight at all tracks just on the off chance some kids might run onto the circuit.

[rt] Idiots

Whats the problem with a few burnouts, they dont let off anywhere near the smoke you get when two holdens bang into each other.
I would bet the Jones boys will be calling BBQ's galore to come on board the fair dinkum sheds entry!

THEY HAVE CHANGED THEIR MIND

Check out the V8supercars website, they have now changed their mind on the burnouts. Burnouts can be performed by the winner in a designated area, hopefully the designated area is anywhere on the black stuff.
