Thought I would introduce a new topic in the lead up to each round where we can all recall our favourite memories at each track.

I will get the ball rolling for Tassie although I could not limit it to just one favourite :D

1. DJ going back to back to back from 88-90. 1990 was a cracker with DJ battling Brocky for the lead over 10 or so laps until DJ went past when Brock's tyres went off.

2. Alan Jones unloading Mark Skaife out of the hairpin in 1993 then MS confronting AJ in the pits in a massive verbal stoush which almost resulted in the pair coming to blows.

3. DJ's battle with Graham Crosby in 1986. Dick passed Croz under brakes into the hairpin nearly 10 laps in a row then Croz blew the Mustang away each time down the back straight. Great dice!

4. The in-car footage of Brocky man-handling a severely 'taily' VN in 1991 and his footwork going through every gear from 5th back to 1st into the hairpin. He also had an awesome dice with both of the B&H Bimmers of AJ and TL for about 20 laps.

#2 was a beauty Rob. AJ unloaded him big time in 93 & your right, Skaifey was really pissed that day.

Can't go past 1981 though, DJ Pole then blew 05 into the weeds to record his first ATCC victory. Go the mighty XD.

Also remember Bowey & AJ coming to blows there also. Anyone remember the big chunk taken out of #18's rim when the B&H Sierra & Bowey tagged at the hairpin? few years ago now..

What about LP cutting a front tyre going into the Sweeper in 1993 and rolling over several times? I remember his car rolling onto the grid on Sunday with dints all over the roof [crackup]

That was the old VL IIRC Rob. That first year of Group A 5 litres back in 93 was as wild as you'd want to see. If you can remember the 1st round at Amaroo that year where most of the VP Commodores finished without their front spoilers as they were bashing into each other around the tight little circuit. Funny thing was that the Commodores were running quicker without the front bar then they were with them attatched due to their very poor design that didn't even include an undertray..[lol]

Back on topic, how about the PJ dash back in 95 when DJ absoluted blew everyone away down the back straight in the EF such was the awesome power they were generating in that period. I'm not sure if he won or came 2nd in the dash but he had a great battle with LP..

Don`t know what year, But Bargwana in GRM, Brighty in Pirtek, Ingall in Perkins, Skaife was in there some where as well with some great incar footage of him & Ingall going side by side down the back straight with Ingall looking over at Skaife the first time around but not the second time when I think it got a bit serious. On the last lap Ingall went from 3rd to 6th as Skaife went under him and Bargwana got them both( I Think ) & Bright got him as well. Haven`t watched that race for a while but it was a cracker.

Yep it was 1995 alright. Don't know what tweaks DJR made to their engines at the end of '94 but those things were jets at the Bathurst sprint round and at Symmons. Alan Draper was on fire!!!
