Not sure if he did the Finke rally Waz, but I remember him driving it on a couple of occasions 87-88 in the Milbrodale Mountain Classic in the Hunter Valley. Ian Hedley owned the Bronco & he did quite a few events in NSW in it (Class 7 or 8 I think). She must have been a beast of a thing to drive though. DJ had a go in just about anything in the mid to late 80's.

I remember something about the FInke, but I wouldn't have got Ian Hedley's name. Those sort of beasties were a very popular class in the 80's... does anyone remember the Old Man Emu three-car team, featuring Colin Bond?

Spot on rob, had a good read about them in Motor racing year on the weekend - nasty piece of machinery and Keith Poole reluctantly admitted they weren't suited to Aussie condidtions, whatever that meant.
