This is either a trick question or I am reading it wrong, but DJR have never finished 1-2 at the Mountain!

1996. Bowe, driving #18 won with DJ coming home in 2nd in what was of course a sprint race as a round of the 96 ATTC. Good question djrfan1.

That was 1995 bigcol, when the EF's were in there infancy. Although in 95 Dj won the first race with Bowey unable to keep pace in 2nd and in the 2nd heat when DJ was winning by a country mile is when the rear wing broke.

As good a save as the 1988 spin on Con rod in the Sierra while in the lead and powering away only for a rear tyre to blow out

Yeah, but that one was only at the first hump... she was still accelerating at only(!) 220-odd, went around twice and barely tagged the wall IIRC. Good catch , but....

The one at the Chase was at redline in top, a feather through the kink... and then BIG EYES, a quick handful of lock, and a slither and shake down the road... a quick spin on the grass. Watch the footage on the "True Blue" video, count the seconds between the moment Dick's eyes go wide and he starts working the wheel in quick, sharp, measured portions, and the moment the dust clears and you can see how far the car travelled in those scant heartbeats....

....then look at the 1996 yearbook at the photos of Skippy Parsons in Glenn Seton's Falcon, airborne, the suspension drooping, travelling at 270-odd km/h, backwards and a metre off the ground at the same spot where she popped a piston out of a brake caliper...

...yeo, Dick's was a good save I reckon...

Skippy's was a good save as well. Garry Willmington was the other driver involved. Willmington was in front of Parsons when the failure occurred. Garry was very, very lucky. And it was precisely at the moment that Glenn was telling Chris Lambden that the twin-calipers were working like a champion (1996 Great Race). They weren't used after that.
