djr workshop tour

hi guys,

today i went to djr to buy some merch and they had a workshop tour going (usually only on wednesdays but this week they ran them tuesday & wednesday, because of the big week next week)

anyway, all i can say is if anyone hasnt been on one DO IT, it was great to see how the team works, the spare parts office, the gear box (18grand worth) they use and the room's they prepare the compenents in, the transporters up close inside and out, they had all five cars there today (Both glenn and steve's westpoint cars, Deans Gatorz, Grants Summit & Davo's breakfree AU)

they fired up dean's car, and i can honestly say i want one (Maybe i'll win lotto one day and form a team DREAMS )

the staff were all pretty friendly & happy to answer questions.

Dick was there having photo's taken for the 25th anniversary of the rock incident, as we walked into the workshop he came down the stairs at the back and walked past us with the photographer, i smiled & nodded at him and he smiled back.

loved the experiance, i brought myself a hat & i was gonna buy my dad a shirt but they didnt have his size so i got a signed Steven Johnson print of the 04' Shell BA (they had luff too, but i only had enough money for one).

took some photo's with my new camera (only about 10 pix)

I did it years a few years back at that time they had the BAs there but they hadn't been unveiled yet & they wouldn't show us. It's definitely a must for any motorsport fan heading to that neck of the woods.

Sounds great Fordlover. I've been in there (fan shop and display area)on a few occassions and the missus has bought us some goodies from the shop too, but I haven't made a workshop tour yet, hopefully before the end of the year.

Since you mentioned the 25th anniversary of the rock incident Fordlover, was there a hint that DJ will suit up in TRU BLU for a parade lap this year??

I know I'm dreaming but how awesome would that be!!!! [][]

nothing was mentioned but i spose anythings possible, he did have a rather official looking shirt on so they might be releasing a "comemorative" shirt doubt it though.

I always travel with my parents. My parents are no way motor sport fans thus I have no chance arriving at the door steps of DJR.

Send them on the brewery tour down the road while you're at DJR. The brewery tour isn't as fun as it ued to be since they got rid of all you can drink

Well folks, its not quite as good as Dick in TRU BLU but it will have to do.

Dick will be parading arond the mountain in the new BF XR8 prior to its official launch at the Sydney motor show.
Don't know if it will be televised, might be a special only for the attendees at the mountain.
