Its been a long time since DJR have gone to Bathurst with cars capable of winning the 1000 on outright pace. The team has done a great job in past years with cars that probably were not podium cars, but have been carried to deliver great results. . This year though DJR have top level cars, strong and powerful DJR engines and great driving combinations in both of the cars, 2009 must be our best chance to take the top step on the podium. I will be making the journey from Melbourne to cheer on DJR at the mountain...........can't wait
Go team DJR!

One thing i've learnt watching Bathurst over the years is never ever take it for granted that a good result is there for the taking.
To many memories of good results gone begging.

68 Holed radiator while leading easily
69 Pulling Moffat in to look at his tyres that where perfect
72 French spinning the GTHO while in the lead
80 The Rock
83 Greenstuffed
95 Seton taking out #17 only for his hand grenade to shit itself within sight of the flag
The list goes on with Longhurst and then Radisich feeding horses and then a few years later leaving the 888 puss bucket on the track after an upright failure bringing out the safety car and gifting a win to shitbag Murphy and last but not least Ambrose on an a charge only to be taken out by that grub Murphy .

There's a lot of missed oportunities there and i take it as it comes and don't bother hyping it up because absolutely anything can and does happen

Bigcol, you are exactly right.

If everything went to plan... would the Mount draw such as following? Have as much drama? Would teams and drivers work as hard to get everything 100% spot on?

I think not.

We all know it?s a tough and long race...We should expect the unexpected. That is the beauty of Bathurst, and when ANYTHING can happen... it means ANYTHIING can happen.

I always thought Mount Panorama is like a cranky woman. Once you think you have tamed her... BAM! ... She punches you in the nose just to make your eyes water wondering what did I do wrong.

Think of her like the characteristics of the race track. It?s a long steep climb to the top and once you have reached the top... you better hold on, because it?s a very scary and fast downhill ride all the way back to the bottom.

Any man that thinks he can or has ever tamed a woman needs to wake up and get his hand off what he hopes to use to tame her.:D

Black & White it is! & Yes..any thing can happen but I am getting off on this right here & right NOW because this is the year! Djr have the POWER! I won`t be supprised at all if the 18 car comes home in 1st spot even, in fact I will pick 18 in my tips with 17 right up it`s clacker for second. Will there be team orders in place for 18 to let 17 past??? Sj to start with 1 stint then Jc 1 stint then Steve again with options waiting. If a cool head is needed: Leave Sj in or Jc if we need to go for broke.
All I can see is Two JmBeam cars comming home in the first 2 spots side by side down conrod straight....
History Repeats!......Go Boys!

fuel consumption.

Maybe economy could be an issue thisd year. After seeing Stevie J on V8extra yesterday I think maybe the DJR cars are bit thirstier than the FPR cars. Steve said that they spent an average of 4 seconds per stop longer in pit lane than FPR which uwould have ultimately cost them a podium. Still with good strategy that can be overcome. I will be having a small wad on 18 for a place.
