1983, the HDT car #25, driven by John Harvey, Peter Brock & Larry Perkins. Brock and Perkins had not practiced or qualifired in car #25, and had taken her over when 05 failed... they made sure the i's were dotted for Bathurst though...

Will have to look in the library for the rest...

That will do Henry..

It was actually only Brock who took over the #25 HDT Commodore when #05 shat itself. Bet Harves felt special that day as when 05 shat itself, it was right at the time when Slug was ready to pit so what does good ol' Brocky do, takes over for the rest of the day & eventually (9 days later) see's #25 disqualified.

It was also the meeting where the HDT debuted the newer VH Commodore with it's new freedoms but the HDT turned up to Sandown with not only the new larger rear wing, but a wing that was later found to have an ajustable trim tab on it..

By geez they used to push the envelope with the rule book didn't they.....

Makes me want to read 'The rise & fall of Peter Brock' Again.. How did Harvey put up with all that crap???

With his usual patience and grace. Bloke's a champion for mine, even if he spent much of his career with that other mob...
