Saw an article in Auto Fiction the other day talking about Charlie being keen to get back into the V8's next year

Just saw a post on TT (no, not from FatGuts) that he is talking to 888 about using his licence to run a 3rd 888 Commodore next year

Leaving DJR as a 1 car team

Yeah, I've heard that he 'wants to get back in!'

There's also talk about Garry Rodgers 'Taking the Money & Running' (ie. selling up) at the end of the year??? With the possibility of Charlie 'getting back in' via that avenue?

knew these rumors would start sooner rather than later, but hoped we would get more rounds in than this before they did.

Lets hope this one gets wrapped up a little faster without so much cloak and daggers stuff, thats probably asking too much though [rt]

Once the sale of the controlling stake of the series goes through apparently each licence holder will get approx 2 million from the proceeds..... be a nice time for Garry (and anyone else who wants to get out) and have a nice comfortable retirement

My understanding is that the licences can only be leased out for a period of two years. This would mean thet DJR would have to either purchase another licence or lease one from someone other than Charlie.
I know Charlie helped us out at a time of need, but at the end of the mess i dont think he did DJR or the DJR brand any favours, i hope he uses his licence wisely and signs, up and coming future star..............David Thexton to drive his 888 Holden.

Does anyone else remember him?

Hopefully if Garry Rogers is getting out, then he and Dick could get into an arrangement for DJR to gain access to these licences- he might even get Garry's sponsors too?

Dick and Garry have been in this game about as long as each other, so it would make some sense that he would talk with Dick before Charlie.

I thought that Charlie had to lease it back to DJR for 2 years?

Well , maybe not HAD to , but I thought that was the agreement as it stands,. . .??

Also I thought that if he doesn't use it himself by the expiration of the two years he is then compelled by the regulations to offer it for sale, . . . . . anyone . . ??

Saw that

That bigest hurdle will be finding another REC.

You'd think that DJR would looking to buy another in the not to distant future unless they're going back to a car for Steve only

If they arn't looking already it could prove to be a huge mistake. Surely the potential to loose young Moff due to not having a car is serious, he could be a huge coup for a team like Webby's. DJR must take the lead on this or they will get caught big time, even if it is just rumour and heresay.
