Not sure if you have caught up with this one. Top Gear Live is heading back to Australia in February 2010. Went along this year and had a blast, and will be there again next year. Looks like there will be some great cars there on show.

?77 Bathurst Falcons to star at 2010 Top Gear Live (www.speedcafe.com.au)

One of the greatest moments in Australian Touring Car racing history is to be repeated at the 2010 Top Gear Live Bathurst Legends presented by Shannons Insurance.
The two Moffat Ford Dealer Team Falcon XC coupes that were the stars of the controversial 1-2 ?form finish? in the 1977 Bathurst race will again be side by side and the centre of attention at Sydney?s Acer Arena from February 11-14.
The race-winning Allan Moffat/Jacky Ickx Falcon is emerging for the event after being enshrined in the National Motor Racing Museum at Bathurst for many years, while the second-placed Colin Bond/Alan Hamilton Falcon XC is coming from the Bowden?s Own Collection on the Sunshine Coast for the historic reunion.
Moffat and Bond last drove the cars as part of the BA Falcon Supercar launch at Bathurst in 2002. On that day Dick Johnson drove the BA Supercar T-Car with the late Geoff Polites (then Ford Australia President) alongside, with Moffat and Bond driving behind.
Sharing the spotlight at Top Gear Live will be in a stellar display of vehicles responsible for 10 other Bathurst victories:
* 1979 Bathurst-winning Peter Brock/ Jim Richards Torana A9X
* 1980-winning Brock/Richards Commodore VC
* 1981-winning Dick Johnson/John French ?Tru Blue? Falcon XD
* Brock/Larry Perkins Commodore VH that won back-to-back Bathurst races in 1982 and 1983
* 1984 race-winning Brock/Perkins Commodore VK
* 1985-winning John Goss/Armin Hahne Jaguar XJS
* 1987 race-winning Brock/David Parsons/Peter McLeod-winning Commodore VL
* 1989-winning Johnson/John Bowe Ford Sierra RS500
* 1992 Bathurst-winning Nissan GT-R of Jim Richards/Mark Skaife.

This spectacular line-up will also be joined by the Chevrolet Camaro of Kevin Bartlett/Colin Bond that was dubbed the ?Channel 6 Camaro? after it bowed out on its roof in the 1982 Bathurst. A number of these cars were recently seen as part of the Pirtek Australian Legends at the Nikon SuperGP on the Gold Coast.
Together they arguably form the most iconic group of Bathurst champion cars ever assembled.
The reappearance of the two 1977 Moffat Ford Dealer Team Falcons will re-ignite the controversy surrounding their form finish.
The Moffatt/Ickx Falcon was leading comfortably in the race?s dying laps when it ran out of rear brakes and was caught close to the finish by its teammate, driven by Colin Bond and Alan Hamilton.
Team owner Moffat ordered a ?Ford finish 1-2? sign to be given to Bond and after winning his fourth Bathurst, denied that Bond have passed him.
?We wanted to find an event that would allow us to display probably the greatest number of Bathurst winning and legendary vehicles in one place at one time,? said Paul Gates, National Sales Manager Shannons Insurance. ?Top Gear Live will give us this opportunity. We encourage patrons to leave time before or after the show to view these legendary vehicles and reminisce about the great days of the Great Race.?

Thought I would share some pictures from Top Gear Live which was on in Sydney last week.

From the Bathurst legends display...

I watched the "Two Hour Special" on 9 the other night and I have to say i preferred it on SBS, 9 obliterated it with adds, it was painful, . . . .

. . . .However, I was surprised to see none other than Steve Johnson advertising a local Mazda dealership,

I wonder if he's got a new manager ??

Thanks for the pics PB, looks like you had a great time, how was the ride on two wheels?

Was better than doing 360's in a yaris. Nothing too spectacular there, just a bit of water and full lock.
Would be good fun to be a passenger when they do one of their full shows. And rare for a hilux not to fall over, they're not called roll-luxes for nothing!

Thanks PB for posting up the photos. The Bowden team had an awesome weekend. Sadly I could not make it this time.

The boys decided to set the cars up like that on purpose! As you can see, the Bond #2 car isn't quite finished, but we just simply ran out of time to do everything. Things that need attention yet are :-

Remove Bonnet Scoop
Fit Correct Wheels & Tyres
Possibly Change the Red highlights to a lighter shade (#1 Car is correct)
Finish wiring it up electrically
A few bits in the interior need to be added or removed

This car is awesome to crawl over. All the suspension components are stamped CB... and then where that part belongs. EG, if it is a lower right control arm it will be LR or RL.

Cheers
John

I agree, it was butchered. in the UK, they show a full hour without interuptions and adds. Channel 9 edited so much out of it, I couldn't bare to watch the Winter olympics special. There were a heap you missed out on and from now I am watching top gear from youtube.

The show I felt wasn't as good as last years show. Grieg Murphy acted like a wanker on the stage and I left feeling somewhat disappointed. The cars were great and the stunts performed were amazing, but poor choice in presenter Murphy i felt.

the roll-luxes and the Yaris spinning out was pretty cool and the bowden group display was fantastic. the cars inside the arena were something special and just out of my price range, but the rest of the show ally wasn't to bad, I felt there was a major basis towards Holden, which is fine if they sponsored the event.

Had the same thoughts about the show, came away slightly disappointed after seeing last years show. And Grig Murphy as a presenter was painful. Seemed to always be yelling, and as a presenter, makes a good race car driver which is really saying something.

The cars on display were great, and after looking backstage, there were some fords there, that didn't see the main arena. Definitely a holden slant on everything.

Haven't been to them but Murphy has the personality of a squashed dog turd so i wouldn't pay to watch him present any sort of TV show

If I knew he was hosting I would of taken a re-think on buy the tickets. All I saw advertised was James May and Jezza Clarkson.

Yes, Yelling his point across. Glad I didn't pay top dollar for the tickets. The RS Foci's were brilliant... I wish ford would bring them out here. If not I'll import one.
