Tips for 04

  • 1. "Your knowledge and input is always welcome but please respect the team, the drivers and other members. Abuse or harsh criticisms will not be tolerated".

    2. "This forum is designated 'Family Friendly' - (ie. we have young & impressionable readers - even if they're not Members/Posters) - therefore language must be moderated! - (how would YOU feel about YOUR 9 year old reading it?)

    3. "Use of characters (eg. #$*@!) that only 'partially' disguise an intended vulgar/offensive word(s) is unacceptable!
If you MUST express yourself in such a manner... use ***** and let the reader's imagination 'fill in the blanks'."

    Thank you for your cooperation.

With the 04 season nearly upon us, what are your thoughts on the 04 champion & strong contenders.

My picks are for 04 champion:

1st. Ambrose
2nd. Skaife
3rd. Johnson

Strong contenders:
Ingall
Murphy
Radisich
Lowndes
McConville
Darkhorse: Warren Luff. Will get better as the year goes on.

As it's Luffy's 1st full season in V8's he'll be sticking close to Steve, like Max did. Means if Steve comes 3rd, Warren will come 4th. Yay

My money's on 1st Ambrose 2nd Ingall 3rd Murphy 4th Skaife 5th Lowndes With both Shell car's in the top 10 and 1 of them in 6th.It wouldn't suprise me to see 1 of the 888 car's somewhere in this equation as well

I can't go past Marcos again in 2004. I expect bigger & better results from 888, FPR & DJR. 888 & FPR because of their huge backing from proven overseas teams and DJR based on their latter 2003 results. Skaife will be there or there abouts, so too Ingall, Murphy and Bright. As long as it's blue oval, I don't really mind (DJR would be the icing on the cake!!!)

expect a good result from fpr now they have all new engines and car setups and one less driver to worrie about, lowndes and seton are great drivers but fpr took a while to build fast falcons. Skaif dosnt have to run the team any more so he will be less stressed and orconn motorsport have SBR engines this year for winterbottem and barguana.

1. Craig Lowndes
2. Ambrose
3. Murph
4. Winterbottem
5. Skaife

Too early to say, i think... If the Castrol VY is a little more competitive, you'd have to think that Steven Richards would be a good chance... I still dont think Murphy has the patience to win a title...

I'll be waiting to see what happens this weekend before I get too rash with my predictions: HRT will still be smarting from the spanking they copped, not only from SBR, but also from their "little brother" KRT team. There are a score of teams and drivers with a point or two to prove, and many will see the GP supports as a great place to start collecting scalps. Some of the teams enduring extended droughts will be looking for a good showing to galvanise them for the year to come. All I will predict is that from wherever I am viewing the racing, I'll be screaming "CARN YOU GOOD FORDY THINGS!" :D

Big call Mitchell. If Murphy didnt get screwed at Winton by the officals he would of gone in to the last round at Eastern Creek leading the championship.

TRU BLU, you're right, it was a close call in the end. Murph is starting to cast off the reputation he had for being perhaps a little impatient and easily out-psyched. However, most championships have any number of "ifs" which could've changed the whole complexion of the thing (hence my signature). This is potentially the most closely contested championship yet... just like it was last year... and up until the first race, the year before.. etc :D

That business at Eastern Creek, with his back, all seemed a bit iffy to me... Spits the dummy too easily...

Seemed a little too convenient, but then, having had intermiitent back problems myself for years now, I can't fault the guy for not driving (I buggered mine lifting toolboxes, got the bonecracker to half fix it, went driving trucks out west for five months - in winter, they just about had to lift me out of the bloody thing at night - took yonks to get it fixed again). While he is rather volatile, he's getting a bit better. I think Murph's good for the sport: right or wrong, he speaks his mind, and when he's on, he's ON... witness Bathurst last year. Still don't want him winning though... :D
