After Ambrose's demoralising defeat of every one else out there will anybody seriously challenge him for the championship.
Skaife after his best championship result in a long time looked down and a little bewildered to me like he was thinking that i can't make this thing go any faster and i'm still third.Murphy in one of the add breaks said to the commentary team that it was demoralising that Ambrose seems to be doing so easy.Has Spud dropped his bundle already.Ingall is talking his hopes up but when you look at the car langauge Ingall looks to be on the edge chasing Abrose. While Ambrose appears to be driving well within his self.I think Lowndes is just happy getting back on the podium and i think he is the only chance of taking it to Ambrose.Todd Kelly might, but inconsistency will hurt him.

Ingall cant match Ambrose and talking it up doesnt make any difference to the fact he is not as fast, although I will concede he does have more mechanical dramas, (is he harder on gear than Marcos).Watch out for Lowndsey He will have more than a couple of winning opportunities this year, I reckon he is a real chance to give Marcos a run for the title.

Marcos has the whole 'Schumacher' thing going on... He knows exactly how to extract the right amount off pace out of his car... But i still think Lowndes is a quicker driver..

He'll give Marcos a run, this year...

Mitch i think Lowndes is on of the best but i don't know if he is any faster than Ambrose.
One of Ambrose's strong points is the abilty to translate exactly what he wants the car to do back to the engineers, something that Craig struggles to do. Ambrose is very analitical in car set up he knows the direction that he wants the engineers to go when their chasing a set up which by the way isn't to ofetn because he has that car going so well straight out of the truck.

Ambrose is the class of the field. He is the complete driver. One wonders how much faster he could have gone if need be, he was just cruising in that 2nd race in the latter stages.

Skaife was just on Sports Tonight implying that the #1 is on temperary loan to SBR & should be back on his HRT Mobil Commodore at the of the year.

Skaife... Your dreamin dude...Car obviously has plenty of HP & will win races this year, but that loose cannon behind the wheel will restrict #2 to maybe 5-6 in the 2005 series... Go Ford..

When the flag drops the Bull$#!^ stops well not here it seems.

Skaifey would be talking up his chances. But talk is cheap.
and he's going to need more than talk to win a championship

As good as Marcos is, he may well be his own undoing. From Indy last year, it has struck me that the young fella is believing in his own publicity a little too much. He has commented on more than one occasion regarding " am just trying to win a championship" regarding other drivers getting in his way.
For mine, he is a good steerer, but no where near the complete package that Craig is - both privately and publicly.
I think that the series will be healthier without him, as dominance from one camp for too long creates boredom.

Never boring when a Ford is dominating Doug. We have only dominated for the last 2 years so we have plenty of catching up to do so keep it going Marcos, at least when my beloved DJR doesn't have a good weekend, we know Marcos will be there or there abouts to give us a good result for Ford...

I personally see a lot of similarities between Ambrose & Allan Moffat. Both tremendous drivers & a cut above just about everyone else, don't particularly give a **** what anyone thinks about them, & usually do most of their talking on the race track.

That is why Ambrose, in time, will go down as one of Fords all time greats. Might not be up there with Moffat, Geoghean & Johnson, but will be a Ford legend none the less.

Tend to agree with there Rob.
Ambrose if he stayed in Australia could possibly become the most succesful driver ever.
He has talent to burn loves getting the elbows out and gives as good as he gets.
I wish him luck in the USofA , but quietly i'd love him to keep racing in Falcons for years to come

Interesting to note that the V8 Supercar site has a list of "team" points after two rounds - combining the efforts of both drivers into a final score.
Stone Brothers are first however DJR are sixth, so it seems 2005 maybe the year we claw our way back, and my dollars are on Seto to do the job.

Ambrose will need 9 wins at Bathurst to be the best ever.

Do you think our new mate Glenn will still go down as a great, if he doesnt manage to win Bathurst before he calls it quits?
