What's the percentage of Friday night games for Queensland
teams compared to NSW teams???

I heard on the radio yesterday on "Talkin Sport" that the Bronco's have played practically(I can't remember exact figures, i think they've only missed 2 or 3) Friday night. they have been virtually guaranteed a 7 day turn around week to week, and Col, this is part of the reason they are the most financially sound club in the NRL, they are a capital city with one team so they are virtually guaranteed big crowds. Yes, they have big crowds because they are a highly successful team, but without those massive gate takings I highly doubt that they would be anywhere as successful as they are. Last years gate takings?- $36m. No other club can get anywhere near that. Both situations feed each other, there is no way they can't be successful. This is also why the Bronco's don't want a 2nd Brisbane team, they want an Ipswich team or one from Country QLD, a 2nd Brisbane team might take too much from their money pool.

Hey i'm not complaining

Got to wonder how long the suburban grounds can keep going then.
Thing on the footy show saying about greenberg i think.

Basically said that they made more money playing at the big venues.
Broncs have always played at the big venues.

Goosters play at the big venues and are lucky to fill a row of seats

Why jam another side into Brisbane when other parts of QLD would love to have a team.
Central QLD has the dollars and the resources to have their own team in the NRL.

Too many teams left in Sydney and if the fans don't give shit and won't go to their games they should follow the gAyFL with what they did with Fitzroy and the Lions.

yes Brisbane do get an advantage with their friday night games but why wouldn't CH9 and the NRL want a game sent into Brisbane homes that will rate well.
Even the NRL make money because of it.
What would you rather. The Broncs being watched by millions.
Or a game from the SFS between Cronulla and the goosters and TV viewers switching over and watching Masterchef

Take it up with CH9 and the NRL.
Even i don't agree with match schedules

All clubs benefit from Television deals. Having every Rugby league fan in QLD watching the Broncs, Cowboys or Titans playing makes big dollars for the NRL.

Every club benefits from that.

Sydney clubs need to stop the in fighting and get some proper managers in for a start.

It appears as though Ch 9 want a queensland and a nsw game on a Friday night, this is why there are so many Broncos games (law of averages), shame they dont give the Cowboys a bit more attention but i think they like the Saturday night games as it gives country supporters time to travel.

As for a second Brisbane team, no way. The comp, as much as I hate to say it, need a strong Broncos. Plus it feels better when we beat them. Another Brissie team will struggle.

As for Origin, congrats to Qld, they are a super team and we can see why they can't fit Benji Marshall in, but will propably happen if there is an injury next year. Good to see all the passionate Qlders back, remember how "origin was dead" a few years ago when NSW won 3 straight.
Both teams are full of grubs, that what makes it as good as it is. Bring on next year, one good thing is that even over the last 7 years it has still been a close contest and on a few occasions the bounce of the ball could have changed a few results...

If it had not been for Darren Lockyer's "Miracle" try from a wayward NSW pass then it would have been a 4-0 record for NSW.
In the end though it's just "If, buts & maybe's"

Also, if it wasn't for that magnificent Cooper Cronk field goal (Watched from the stands in person with 590) this year, it would of only been a 6 - 0 record to Qld. [y]

That's right Tips 507.
The Cowboys lose money on Friday night games because a hell of a lot of their supporters travel from far and wide to get there.
They love Saturday night games!
