Monday night ABC1 had an Australian Story episode on Sir Jack Brabham and how it is 50 years since he won the first of his 3 World Championships. A significant aspects of the story are that he lost 30 (yes 30!) friends during his time racing and, while he is adored overseas, hardly gets any recognition here.

If you get a chance, it might be repeated on ABC2 Tuesday night or on Saturday afternoon at 12:30. Well worth watching.

I Think I have seen that some time ago and he was a legand in those days but a bit like Allan Jones and co in F1.
We Aussies really only like V8 Tin Tops.

For the historically minded, I noticed that the ABC slipped in some old footage, including what I think is the end of Bevan Gibson's fatal accident on Conrod Straight during an Easter meeting. A sports car spinning upside down with minimal roll-bar is not nice.

It was a really good watch, although i wasn't around in his hay day, but i found it interesting and love that era of F1 racing.

Was really interesting, that they didn't talk to Jackie Stewart, as he was around in Jack's days.

Also what stunned me is the friendship he had with McClaren.

All in all was a great watch.
