Looks like Tony Cochrane is at it again back in the bedroom doing another overseas deal with Singapore this time, could be in place by next year,it would most likely mean the end of v8 supercar racing in Sydney. But he has vowed to keep fighting for a street race in Sydney.

He just doesn't get it does he? Bloody Idiot. It'll be another overseas race with more pit crew than spectators.

Must disagree there Poita

The number of Australians alone that work in Singapore would make a good crowd.

Also for people in West Australia and Darwin it is cheaper to fly to Singapore than Sydney.

Tiger have cheap fairs to Singapore...If you dont mind cheap service and no business class

I think that aeroflop has better service....Unless the plane crashes then it every one for them selves !

Maybe it`s just not the same anymore.A different time and era and a different kind of audiance. There is definatley a lack of up to date information when they dissapear overseas.I would like to ask the Question?......Has there been any comercial bennifit to the teams themselves by racing overseas.Personely I`de rather see a few more races back in home land. Can`t see why 2 events at QR couldn`t happen with one round being a sprint round and the other being a longer event[sh]

I hope your right sergy, as I would hate to see another round go overseas and become a flop for spectators. The lack of crowds just makes the V8's a laughing stock overseas.

You may be right with the cheap airfares but they still need somewhere to stay, at least in Australia they can rely on someone they might know that lives in another state.

I think if is combined with a acomdation package it might work.

I am use to travelling and staying in hotels and have made a art form of getting good accomdation at a good price.

But for holiday travellers it can be very expensive.

I can understand why the WTCC visits different countries, but why V8's.

It would make more sence if Commodores and Falcons were sold there but there not.

Or if Mazda Toyota were in the series but there not.

I can't see any sense in it at all. We are losing great tracks like Oran Park, Amaroo Park and Lakeside and Cochbrain wants more street circuits? I can't see any positives other than more dollars for V8SA at the expense of grassroots motorsport in this country.

c@#kroach has been going out of his way to make sure as few people as possible show up to races in Sydney for years so he can get his own way to hold a street race 10 minutes away from a permanent circuit. If he wants it so bad & thinks it will be so successful why doesn?t he offer to put up his own money rather then the publics?
