Glenn Seton is in line to posess a record that he does not want. What record is it? Who holds the record? How many rounds is this record? And does the current record holder in regards to rounds, own the record in regards to years?

This is a HUUUUUGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEE guess SF, but I would say it would be rounds (or years) between race wins.

Who holds the record??? Longhurst??

How many rounds??? No idea

Longhurst holds the record for rounds, but not for years. Someone else holds that record. The number is quite large, in terms of rounds. I'll give you a hint, it's less than 100.

Correct. Bond's drought in terms of rounds was 54, due to haphazard involvement in the ATCC over that period. Longhurst's record is 99 rounds from Lakeside 1992 to Bathurst 2001. Glenn should pass the record at Sandown.

On a positive note for Seto, he has had the largest number of consecutive starts and is about to crack the 200 ATCC barrier; being the 3rd man to do this. I believe it is in Tasmania (so I will be there too) and with some luck, Seto can break that drought of no wins. It can be hard work being a Seto fan, but very worthwhile. I have to admit it got easier while the red teanm weren't monopolising everyhting.

I have another question - when did Seto break the 300 km/hr barrier down Conrod? Was it 94 or 95 or some other year?

Glenn doesn't have the record for the most consecutive starts in ATCC history; that title belongs to Dick Johnson. Glenn will reach 200 in Tasmania. I'll be there for round start 199 at Surfers, hopefully, after start 198 has delivered a Bathurst win. He'll break the all-time start record, if the round structure and events stay the same at Symmons next year, if he remains healthy, making his 213th start. Glenn hit 302km/h on Conrod Straight during the Top Ten Shootout, with his helmet strap flapping in the breeze. The Parsons incident nearly cleaned up Garry Willmington in the process, and was on the Thursday of the 1996 1000.

There was no doubt those are among the best Great Race photos in history. It was just fortunate that David kept it off the wall, for Glenn to rip in the fastest ever qualfiying lap of Bathurst to that point on the Friday. Glory days, indeed.

I'm disappointed SF!!!! Seto will NOT get to 200 CONSECUTIVE starts in ATTC history anytime so.. He missed a round of the championship in 2000 (Sandown) + the non-championship race at suffer's after his PI testing crash.. His only around 70ish consecutive starts at the moment..

Henry Skippys flight photos were only surpassed by the "unauthorised" pics of the medical team removing a rather puckered Cobra race seat cover from his backside!!! What a close call.

:D

I'd reckon he had a hard time getting his sphincter to let go of the seat when it all stopped, for sure.

Joe, re-read the thread again. The 200 bit was in reference to Glenn reaching 200 round starts in Tasmania this year. Nothing to do with the consecutive bit at all.

SF, I think you should re-read your own post as that is not how it reads!!!! I was thinking someone with your Seto knowledge would not get that wrong :)
