Echoing alot of my feelings guys. But don't dare ask any serious questions on the Team Mates forum!
The Team is in the shit, end of story. Unless there is a big name sponsor waiting in the wings, get used to looking at the bottom of the timesheets for "our" team. Whilst other teams are announcing new manufacturer deals and rumours of drivers moving teams and taking sponsors with them, DJR has nothing but bad news. Of course the usual suspects give us the empty platitudes that everything is rosy and the future looks as good as the cars. DJR looks and performs like a team that is treading water and barely staying afloat. I wish something positive would be announced for DJR for a change. No one is doubting the efforts of the people at DJR, I'm sure they are all doing their best but when Blake Smith says that they don't have a designated shock tech and he is doing them for all the cars, the question of resources comes to mind. I keep telling myself that they might be saving all their coin for next year but I'm not so sure. Mitch Timbs mentioned during a pit tour that DJR's sole CoTF chassis had been returned to Pace for "some moifications", Im not sure what that would be about.[sh] Has anyone that has been to the workshop recently seen it reappear?
On a positive note, I think the addition of Mitch Wilson has been a fantastic move by the team to address some of the issues that have been creeping in with the "Team Mates" concept. Mitch is very approachable and has done a top job so far, he gets my "Yay" for the day! However the pessimist in me can't help but think the sudden interest in the Team Mates might be to ensure that DJR doesn't lose a nice, not so little revenue stream in reaction to impending sponsor departures.
Anyhoo, like I've said before. As long is there is a DJR, I will support them and I'm going to hope for a little Bathurst miracle![help]
