Very sad news indeed bartman. I remember him best as a Team Manager in the 1980's for the JPS BMW team of Jim Richards, Neville Crichton and Tony Longhurst and later as Team Manager for Tony Longhurst at Freeport Motorsport/B&H Racing. He was often a man of few words but a very wily character whose terri-towling hat became a regular pit-lane fixture. He will be missed by the Motorsport fraternity all over the world. RIP.
His legacy will live on for many years especially with driver safety.
Quote from Brisbane Sunday Mail "One of Gardner's legacies is the Holden Performance Driving Centre he established near Norwell, south of Brisbane. Russell White, now head of the Fatality Free Friday program, worked with Gardner for 10 years at the centre.
"A lot of the current generation don't realise what Frank did," he said.
