Has to be JB in 1999 when he muscled the old AU18 onto pole with a blistering time of 1.09.2.
Rumour was that DJR took all the downforce off the rear wing and JB drove by the seat of his pants for that time.
The AU's were such a pig with set-up balance back then that was the only way of getting a front/raer balance!
I know the track was in better shape back then, but that time still stands today.
I watched the lap from turn 6 and I still remember how knife-edge the lap looked.

Can't go past Marcos in 04 (IIRC) when, after having a stop go for an altercation with Ellery in the pits, he then mowed down the field to eventually finish 2nd behind Ingall. On the way though, Marcos pulled in Skaife at the region of about 3/4 of a second a lap & when he caught the #2 Commodore, Skaifey's engine blew....
Priceless!!

Sorry only one problem there 7 teen 8 teen and that is that JB didn't drive for DJR from 1999 onwards. That was Dick's last year of racing (not counting his one off race with Steve in the QLD 500 in 2000)and it was the first year that Paul Radisich drove for the team. You will find it was in the #600 Cat AU Falcon and it still stands as the fastest practice lap.

From memory 4EVER17 it was Mike Imrie in the Saabwreck Commodore. Larry must have had the bi-focals fogged cos he almost hammered him and full speed. He got 2 wheels onto the grass and was all crossed up. How he missed Imrie and at the same time didn't spin, I will never know.
Im glad you also make mention of Paul Radisich and the wet finish to the 2001 Qld 500. The team went nuts when they put Paul out on wets in front of Rusty only for The Rat to bog it a few laps later. Jubilation quickly became despair until the red flag was display just prior to Ingall crossing the start-finish line.
Race was therefore called at the positions 1 lap prior to the race being red-flagged which elevated the 17 car into P1. Despair became jubilation once again.
The funnist thing for me was watching The Rat climb out of 17, salute the crowd, then have this bogan decend upon him through the sand trap in a pair of thongs hurling his shirt above his head. His shorts were slowly falling down with each step and I remember praying to god that he didn't end up dacking himself. Thankfully they managed to hang on for dear life [crackup].
