Slowly coming to grips with the 2008 cars running their #'s on their rear window but........Can anyone remeber when a certain Allan Moffat ran with a full size # on the rear window of one of his cars??

Not to confuse anybody, he also had the numbers on the doors as per usual also & ran the number only on one side of the car. Extra point for naming on which side of the car he ran that number.....

Would that have been in a 24 hr race in America? I seem to remember something about Marvin running an RX7 in the states in the early 80's, perhaps at Daytona. IIRC it was on the left door.

Don't know about the XW 4EVER17, but the earliest shot I,ve got of Moff with the # on the window is indeed that lovely little Cortina. 1964 was the year when Moff, who was entered as an 'international' entrant, brought the Cortina Down Under from the states where he had purchased it from the Lotus Cortina Team of the USA, for the Sandown 6 hour race in Nov 1964 where he finished 4th.

Gotta love all the info you get with those lovely model cars from Biante. :D:D

So congrats to RJ I guess.. [bc][bc][bc][sc] Now if 4EVER17 can hand over that cigar..[w] [smk][smk]

Wouldn`t have had a bloody clue but thought I might have jaged it with a stab in the dark.:DMust say though I really enjoy this type of Trivia questions and reading every ones ideas and knowlage be it right or wrong.Hearing old names like Mike Vine...Growing up in Mt Gravatt just before Garden City was built to about the age of 25 I can remember driving past Mike Vine turbo at Gumdale,Capalabar or Mt Cotton some where. And he use to race open wheelers.I think he Brought a Formula 5000 and that thing was awsome at Mt Cotton Hill Climbes.Mm Does any one remember a Qld Driver of that era called Barry Wraith, who had a very nice Ford Anglia Sports Sedan?Talkingabout hillclimbs I must get my ass down there one day again soon. Here`s the cigar back that I stole.[iddi]
