You have to give it to Gary as he does give the young blokes a go.
Doesn't take any crap either.

Garry Rogers has ALWAYS fostered new talent, and probably been the most successful entrant to do so. When he was driving, he was renowned for driving with inexperienced entrants, and not only doing a ripper job of getting results, but also coaching them along. Bill Tuckey always rated him very highly.

From his initial entry as a Level 2 franchise, with Steve Richards, through Bargs, and Tander, Holdsworth, Caruso etc, he's supporting the category very well, and garnishing remarkable results along the way. It's mildly ironic that international drivers are still causing him some heartburn though... that all started with John Andretti in 1988!

Garry does a great job providing opportunities for up and coming drivers, but dont be fooled into thinking he does it because he likes seeing young guys in his cars. Sure there is a long list of young guys, bargs, tander, holdsworth, caruso and whincup that have been through his workshop and in most part they have all paid for their seat. Whincups uncle greame from grasham printing in melbourne reportedly paid 800k for whincup to get a steer, when the money dried up, so did the drive.
Dean canto tells a similar story of loosing his seat to a cashed up caruso, im not knocking gary rogers, but there is a little bit more to it, he doesnt just toss them the keys

As much as I am already disliked on here for actually speaking my mind and not sugar coating things, I think CS had EVERYTHING to do with the 2010 championship. He is not only an astute businessman, but knows how to coach people in self belief . . . lift them up, don't put them down. I think we will see a strong effort in 2013 out of Car 18 :)

Ford might need to look at getting a new factory team....
Know of a very loyal and dedicated ford team that could use the dollars and full factory support. :p
