holden 65% ford 35%
is next year going to be a holden whitewash
Who wants to watch 10 factory Holdens from the 2 biggest teams in the series running 1 to 10.
DJR will get nothing worth anything from T8 when they switch.
Neither FPR or SBR have anywhere near the resources to take it too them.
is it stuffed! as a ford v holden sport[bx]

Maybe the series NEEDS Toyota in 2011 to save it?? A few Holden teams could move across and balance it all out and maybe make it interesting again (worked in NASCAR!).

I believe that the whole Holden v Ford thing has been out grown and there needs to be something done about expanding the series to accomodate other manufacturers, whoever they might be. I also beleive that, although it is "V8 Supercars", other engine types should be looked at for these other manufacturers, for obvious reasons(noone else has V8's).I myself are perfectly happy to have a Toyots Avalon running around with a 5L V8 and rear wheel drive, but what I don't want is the Toyota or V8SC managemant to run around spruking that it is just like the road car. That is going to insult alot of peoples intelligence.

I have spoken to a few members in regards to Ford pulling their sponsorship from several teams and maybe altogether in the next year or two. Maybe FoMoCo aren't as stupid as many of us think they are, although their decision to support the teams they did still riles me a bit.

Why should Ford put money into a series that has absolutely nothing to do with selling road cars, the days of win on Sunday and sell on Monday have nothing in common with V8 supercars.
If Ford should pull out altogether I doubt it would have very little effect on their sales so why pump money into something that has no real benefit.

Ford have no say in V8 Supercars, unlike Holden who used to threaten to quit the series every time something didn't go their way or Wankingshaw didn't get his tag "never to be trusted" removed form official records.

The cars are nothing like what any of us could buy so who cares what badge, bonnet shape or rear spoiler goes on a shell. To let another manufacture come into to the series is simply to allow them to stick their own badge on, cut and shut their panels to fit a shell and fit a unique rear spoiler, no big deal really. Yes there is more to it than that but seriously how much different would the car really be underneath?

Ford must think as much of VESA as most of us do. How the hell can Cockbrain and his cronies spend so much time and effort on project blueprint to make the series as even and contrived as possible but then allow Holden to buy its way to the top with an unlimited budget. V8 Supercars was all about Holden V's Ford, there appears to be rules in place to keep the series as even as possible except for the most important one, keeping the ratio of Holden to Ford as even as possible. What are they going to do at next years at AGP, makes a farce of the Manufactures Challange now doesn't it?

We can all see that the series is dying, from 55 cars when V8 Supercars first started to teams having to pre qualify and now to the stage that VESA have to buy back the licenses because bugger all people want them. Then we have to listen to Cockbrain put his BS spin on "we only wanted <s>36</s>, <s>32</s> <s>30</s> 28 cars on the grid anyway". Next it'll be we only wanted a Commodore Cup series, well he has just about got that now.

I'll support DJR in whatever series they compete in, but once they decide they've had enough so will I.

[iag] Still a big fan of DJR that's the only team worth supporting, they just don't make legends like Mr Johnson any more

I was on Youtube last night looking at some Bathurst footage from 1987, the World Touring Car round.Bring back Grp A,great racing, good variety of cars and definitely worthy of manufacturer backing because they are the track version of their road car, so at least it is more relevant than V8's are.

[iag] Well said Poita, shows just why your the Boss:D

It's not a race between a Ford car or a Holden car it's just plain old Badge racing.

Larry Perkins predicted this about the time he let Ingall go and a few other things went down.
I realy believe we would rather watch Falcons and Holdens, $40K shitters direct from the showroom biffing and bashing their way around the track. Honesty and integrety are the main ingredients missing from the Cochbrain version of Ford verses Holden.

does this mean you all agree that if DJR drive in an all Holden series in beautiful V? Commodores you will still support them. That's great to hear hopefully it wont be to far away, at least then us Holden people will once again be able to celebrate a Holden winning Bathurst.
