It was John Lusty in 1986 (when Grice won!)... The Lustys were ever the eventful entry at Bathurst... first brother John and Graham (who were in partnership with former F5000 tyro Bruce Allison, making articulated trailer bodies for semis) who entered in 1984 in a Group C Commodore... 1985 saw Graham and cousin Ken in a Commodore (Ken got it wrong over the top and hit a wall... and Grice broke a wheel on the resultant debris, and augered the Commodore - a very good one, converted from the 1984 K-Mart VK Gp C car - he was sharing with Warren Cullen, into the back of the Lusty car...
In 1986, Graham was the first casualty of the first wet practice session, getting it wrong at Griffins, and sliding the Commodore backwards down an embankment steep enough that it had to be craned back out... at least it was undamaged... that was the race in which John did his stint with the vice-grips on the stub of the broken shifter...
1987 the car hit the wall at Forrests... hard...
1988, it dropped all its coolant at Murrays, and spun on the goop, forcing eventual winner Mezera up the escape road...
and then it all got a bit quiet...
seems that the business was bought by O'Phee.
