Tomorrow, Monday April 26th marks the birthday of Richard Johnson, five-time Australian Touring Car Champion, three-time Bathurst 1000 winner, twice Sandown 500 winner, multiple Queensland Touring Car Champion and one-time Qld 50m freestyle age record-holder....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DICK!! Wishing you the best for this and many more!

A little bit of trivia I had forgotten (and thought I'd post it here, as we're talking about DJ's b'day), is that Dick shares his birthday with another five-time ATCC winner, Ford hero and all-round legend, Ian "Pete" Geoghegan. Ian would've been 64 today :(. The late Peter Hopwood, who could also fling a car a bit (he had a great time in the Freedom Fences XE Falcon in 1984's Great Race... it was the Ex-Morris, Ex-Harris, Kermit Mk.2 car that Dick started in 1983's Great Race), would have been 61... and Jason Bargwanna celebrates another birthday too! (thanks Mark Jones for these statistics)

Henry, can you remember "Hoppy" in the Chev Impala around Amaroo? What a waste of good talent to Cancer, I think it was.

Yeah, cancer got Hoppy :(. He was a versatile steerer, and one of the Amaroo doyens. Sad that Amaroo is now under housing.
