Unbelievable turnaround by both cars.
That last pit stop of Scotty's must have really demoralised Red Bull and Caltex!

Well that was a miraculous turnaround, made for an enjoyable afternoon. Well done to the team and very unexpected win.

If Whincup had done anything similar to Scotts performance today Skaife & Co would have been labeling it as a champions drive, instead all we get is ad nauseum comment on how DJRTP were banking on a safety car and wouldn't make it on fuel. Interesting comment on how the lap record from Whincup spooked DJRTP into taking a gamble with setup to try keep up.

It's hard seeing us drop the championship lead so close to the end, but I'm confident Scott should be able to outrace Whincup over the remaining rounds, and hopefully PRA can stay in the mix and take some points away from the 888 guys

I think 888 are still scratching their heads over the fuel consumption! Great comeback by both cars today. After qualy I wasn't expecting anything like that![bw]

Now be honest.
How many were thinking back to the old ways after qualifying?

Not so much back to the old ways, but somewhat worried as we hadn't exactly shown the ability to carry carspeed and slice through the field like 888 seem to be able to do. Thankfully we have now, and we've proven we've got street race form, important with Newcastle being one of the deciders

It was as though suddenly we had become hot and cold again.
One of the odd things for me was that no car changes were made during qualifying to try to improve the situation.
Just throwing new tyres and hoping seemed to be the only option tried.
I think I read where they made wholesale changes after qualifying though so at least they did work through the situation.
