He's not shy!
James Courtney says his results this season at Dick Johnson Racing, when compared to those of Ford Performance Racing (FPR), speak volumes as to why he decided against a move to the factory Ford team at the end of 2008.
"I said it on the podium at New Zealand; I got up there and I said 'I had all these doubters questioning me why I left (Stone Brothers Racing) and I didn't go to FPR and I came here; this is the exact reason why'," Courtney told V8X Magazine.
"From the first day it was what I wanted. I'm 100 per cent focused; I'm doing everything I can to get the most out of this operation, as I was at SBR."
While Courtney leads the Championship, the results of FPR's Mark Winterbottom and Steve Richards have been indifferent.
The Jim Beam Racing driver said FPR's excuse that funding has decreased over time was not good enough.
"I can tell you, they have a lot better budget than what we have. They are not shy on the money side of things," he said.
"They've got nothing else to point the finger at; they've pointed it at everything else; it's about time it gets turned around and (they) start looking within."
Courtney noted that Ford would be incredibly frustrated that it has not received value for all of the dollars it has pumped into FPR.
"The only championship wins have come from SBR and Triple Eight over the last 10 years and that must be incredibly frustrating for them as an organisation," he said.
"All the results have come from the first part of that period from SBR and then Triple Eight were so dominant and now that Triple Eight left it was their (FPR) time to shine and we've stepped up instead.
"It's an awesome feeling to me, especially to have Marin (Burela) and Chris (Styring), the two new people at Ford come up to me and ask me why it's so good here and why FPR can't do what they want.
"It shows that you can overcome the money side of things with good old hard work in determination and people power."
