DJR will be conducting a 2-day test session this week at QR in preparation for the next round of the Championship on July 2-4.

Hopefully this will help the team find a quick and consistent set-up, however all local teams are expected to be strong there (SBR, 888, SER, PMM).

Is there any way we can get some form of update or feedback after the test? It would be nice to know how everything is progressing.

I see the upcoming round at Qld Raceway as a real acid test for DJR. Last year both #17 & #18 got lapped before race end & if that happens again this year, at their test track, there wont be much hope for the rest of the year will there? I'm predicting a much more competetive result in two weeks time by DJR!

ROB17,
I`m with you on that last question, any form of update or feedback from the team`s test sessions or progress they are making would be MOST WELCOME on this forum, that`s why we are here to be a part of the team.

PS:This is a freindly driven reply.

Rob 18, I agree that the next round is a big test for DJR. However, their cars are quicker and far more consistent now than they were this time in 2003, so I think there good reason to expect a solid result barring misfortune. Wouldn't anticipate anything earth shattering though as I'd expect SBR to be the benchmark at QR. HRT are always on the pace there and CPR and PWR have been quick everywhere this year.

It is looming as an extremely exciting race, and with a 1 x 300km format, it could be the round that makes or breaks the title for some. BRING IT ON I SAY [8D]

What makes me think the Qld round could be something special for DJR is that not only is it there test track, but on the same weekend is the 5th round of the Konica series which means lots more laps for DJR to get the setup right for the weekend. And on a tepremental racetrack like QR, that could make a huge difference. Also, what I'm looking foward to is how Owen Kelly compares in lap times to #17 & #18, should be interesting me thinks!!

Doug, thanks for the update on the recent test session at QR in the news section. Sounds very promising for a good result in the Qld 300.

Thanks Doug. This sort of feedback is exactly the sort of stuff I (as well as others) was after.

I cannot wait until next weekend, and I am looking forward to a strong performance from DJR. Good luck to the entire team :)

Hi Guys, the amount of detail we get from DJR is directly due to Steve Chalkers passion for the team - he is always available everytime I need info, and I will be taking some happy snaps of the workshop saturday to be added to our photo gallery shortly - thanks again for the loyalty you show DJR and this site.

I made my first trip to the workshop from Sydney and they were all very helpful and happy for me to take photos of the Old cars and of the cars in the workshop. The mercahndise crew were alos very helpful with every request i had. Big thanks to Steve Chalkers for his quick replies to the rumours.

Doug, any idea of the times they were doing earlier in the week? or how they compared to others who were sharing the track on the day??

On RPM yesterday when Bill Woods interviewed Russell Ingall, the enforcer gave the impression that DJR had found something fairly substantial over the past few weeks & were reportably lapping in the low 10's (compareable to SBR) & to expect a better show from DJR this weekend. Geez I'm starting to get a feeling DJR ARE turning the corner. Let's hope so!!

Sincerely hope you are right Rob 18. It's been a long-time between drinks for DJR. Let's hope we witness something special this weekend. Good luck to Junior, Wazza, DJ and the entire team at DJR :)

The good oil is that top 3 for the weekend is a real probability - hope the boys can keep their noses clean, and avoid other peoples problems - dont know about the rest of you but I havent been so pumped about a round for ages.

I am pumped too Doug but I am going to watch the race with no expectations of a result. Every time I have high hopes I am left disappointed, so I am going to change my approach this weekend and see how it pans out in the end!

Doug,
We`re you able to get some happy snaps of the workshop on saturday and how many times did Jonathan try to get in them?;)

Jonathon has been our closest help after Chalks in this club - full praise to a young guy who is passionate about the team and also dedicates a good portion of his own time - pity there are not more like him, it was like stepping back 15 years to the old days at Lakeside when I was a flaggie - so Thanks again to Jon for a lovely day!
