Hi Rob, Dick Johnson won Bathurst and the ATCC in 1981. In 1982 he didn't won Bathurst but still, he was able to get his 2nd ATCC.

Marvin the Magnificent 1976-77. XB GT's (IIRC he remodelled his cars before the enduroes in 1977 with the XC bits)

Don't forget Dick's repeat performance in 1988-9 in the world's fastest RS500's...

Henry do you mean the Dick drives the world's fastest RS500? Isn't there just one type of RS500?

Yep. Geoghegan (what a legend) 66, 67, 68, 69
Moffat 76- (against all odds & a horde of Torana's) & 77
DJ- 81-82 & 88-89. (probably without the emergence of the great Dick Johnson in 1980, Australian Touring car racing probably wouldn't have survived. Touring car racing was in dire straights in the late 70's & early 1980 with the total domination from the Holden A9X Torana's & in particular Peter Brock & the HDT. So with the emergence of Dick Johnson & the TRU BLU XD Falcon at Amaroo Parks CRC 300 1980 where he led most of the race only to finish 2nd to Brock but it definately was a sign of things to come for Ford fans around the country & set us on the path to what we have today. Dick Johnson, you are a Legend..

There was only one type of RS500, but DJR built a number of them... all very quick motor cars. Robb Gravett won a British Touring Car Championship in an ex-DJR Sierra, and Dick went close to winning a sixth title in 1990, but was let down by durability on a couple of occasions. The Sierra in the DJR Museum is arguably the best of the lot... 2nd at Bathurst in 1990/1992, 1989 winner.

For the 1987 season DJR built 2 new Sierras. 17 was a right hand drive and 18 was left hand drive for Gregg Hansford. The plan was for 18 to become the Bathurst car for Dick and Gregg to drive but it was decided that the car had too many hits in 1987 and remained as car 18.I dont recall the left hand drive car racing again after 1987 does any one know what happenend to it? Was that the car that Rob Gravett won the British Touring Car Championship in?
