I was thinking more along the lines of its purpose being to warn you, if your driving along, with a door not closed properly..................oops!

Had the 40,000k service done on my Ranger today. I mentioned in another thread about there being grease leaking from under the passenger side wheel centre cap. As the wheel bearings are supposed to be repacked every 20 thousand I found this to be a little odd as this didn't occur at 20,000. Ford did the 20,000 service and as I was far from impressed with their pricing or service, I took it else where for the 30,000 and for this one being the 40,000. The mechanic told me today that there is no way the wheel bearings were repacked at 20,000. I have had a few hours to think about it and I am going to ring the mechanic tomorrow as well as the dealer and I'm seriously considering reporting the dealer to the Office of Fair Trading.
